Subhash Ghai was born on 24 January 1945 in Nagpur. He is a director, producer and screen writer. After a diploma from Film and Television Institute in Pune, he started his career in Bollywood in 1970.
Starting off as an actor with Taqdeer, he made his directorial debut with Kalicharan in 1976. The movie was a commercial and critical success and to this day remains as one of the biggest hits in Bollywood. As of 2013, Subhash Ghai directed 13 blockbusters like Vidhaata, Karma, Saudagar, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Pardes, Yaadein, Kisna and Black and White. Subhash produced movies like Joggers’ Park, Aitraaz, Iqbaal and Apna Sapna Money Money.
Subhash Ghai is married to Mukta Ghai, after whom he named his company, Mukta Arts. They have two daughters together.
