Lyricist Anvita Dutt was an exception as she went onto the stage to collect her award! Dutt won the award for Most Atrocious Lyrics for her song Ishq waala love in Student Of The Year. She jokingly accepted that she could not write a sense waala song! “Shekhar (of composer duo Vishal-Shekhar) told me that I would definitely win an award for this song but did not say which one. His words have come true!” she said.

The evening however belonged to Shirish Kunder as he won the Worst Film award and Kunder was declared Worst Director for the film. Shahrukh Khan was give a special award - Super Hit of 2012 for slapping Kunder! Kunder also won the Beta Tumse Na Ho Payega Award.

Jackky Bhagnani received the Why Are You Still Trying Award for his repeated, futile shots at stardom. We totally understand!

The Bhatt family received the Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya Award for their sequels and ‘irritating’ films.

The Anti-Kela Awards honoured some of the best films of the year - Kahaani, Paan Singh Tomar, Gangs Of Wasseypur and Vicky Donor won in this category.

“I have never been to any award ceremony but this was special,” said writer Advaita Kala, who accepted the AntiKela for Kahaani.

Ajay Devgn, who’s latest flick Son Of Sardar is doing great at the Box Office feels that 30-40 years down the lane, people will forget actors like him.

Ajay Devgn said at a recent event: “We are currently here and we are in front of the media and people, but I don’t think 30-40 years from today people would remember stars like us. There have been instances, there have been stars in the past, who the current generation does not remember and have forgotten (them).”

“They have been much bigger stars than what we are and if you can have all of them there (Walk of the Stars) so that their memory remains. I think they should live on, so it’s a fabulous thing to do,” added Ajay referring to the Walk of the Stars.

Sonakshi Sinha, who was also a part of Son Of Sardar has also become a part of the prestigious group and is very happy.

Sonakshi Sinha said: “I am over the moon because my hand print gets to be with some of the biggest stars in our country today. I feel really honored and privileged that I got the opportunity so early in my career. So, I just like to thank UTV Stars Walk of the Stars.”

Well, so after the much awaited excitement of the two big releases Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardar, the Box Office reports are out. And both the films have got an excellent opening. According to Trade Pundits, both Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardar are expected to cross the 100 crore mark.

While the Shahrukh Khan-Katrina Kaif starer released on 2,500 screens, it has already collected 15.23 crore all over India. Meanwhile, SOS was released on 2000 screens and has collected 10.72 crore.

Taran Adarsh, the famous Trade analyst says it is the “best Diwali for Bollywood”.

Taran tweeted: “In mass circuits, SOS is ahead and at multiplexes, JTHJ takes a lead. As per early trends, JTHJ is ahead of SOS in India. But, both are winners at the box-office. This is the biggest and best Diwali for Bollywood. The business of JTHJ and SOS will be the biggest ever.”

Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai, was also of the same view.

He said: “Son Of Sardaar is doing well in single screens and Jab Tak Hai Jaan is doing well in multiplexes. Looking at the reports, I am sure SOS will pick up and do well in a couple of days.”

And all the buzz before the release of both the films have made even better for the films plus they have an advantage of the festive occasion and an extended week as no big films will release this week.

Anant Verma, director and business head of DT Cinemas, said, “Both the films have opened well with almost equal occupancy at our cinemas. We gave equal capacity and almost same number of shows to both. We are looking at a decent occupancy till Sunday. Friday morning shows will dip a little, but overall till Sunday all cinemas will do well. Families, youngsters and couples are coming to watch SOS and JTHJ.”

Jab Tak Hai Jaan has been made on a budget of 50 crore, while Son Of Sardar is slightly a little more expensive and is made on a budget of 80 crore.

Sanjay Ghai of Mukta Arts predicts the films to cross Rs.100 crore collection mark.

“They have the potential to cross Rs.100 crore. Yesterday both the films opened at 90 percent occupancy, which was expected and today both JTHJ and SOS are going houseful,” said Ghai.

So obviously everyone was hoping to spot Sallu at the SOS premiere last night, but Salman Khan surprised everyone when he decided to attend the Jab Tak Hai Jaan premiere. Is it the end of the animosity between Salman and Shahrukh? or did Salman attend the premiere for his ex and very close friend Katrina? we’re still guessing. But the biggest names in the industry were present at the premiere. Jab Tak Hai Jaan, of course, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman’s sworn enemy ever since they infamously came to blows at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party four years ago. Then again, it also stars Katrina herself, Salman’s ex-girlfriend, his co-star in blockbuster film Ek Tha Tiger and who is treated as an ad-hoc member of Salman’s family. Ek Tha Tiger was also a Yash Raj film. And so Salman attended an SRK event – Bollywood history of sorts.

Well, do you know what was even more surprising? Kajol who is a regular at YRF premieres and a very close friend of SRK was absent from the premiere. Maybe her husband Ajay Devgn wouldn’t have liked that too much.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan also stars Anushka Sharma, Director Yash Chopra died of dengue-related complications on October 21, three weeks before his last film released.

Sonakshi Sinha is eagerly looking forward to the release of her upcoming flick Son Of Sardar, which also sees Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla. The actress, in the film, plays the role of a colorful and vibrant character.

Despite her last film Joker being a dud at the box office, Sonakshi is not bogged down, instead, the actress is very confident about her next.

“I think the best way is to take success and failure in the same stride. Both come one after the other,” she told, in a group interview.

“I have been fortunate that my films have done well. So I don’t really go and shout on the rooftop that my film crossed Rs.100 crore, nor do I cry when my film doesn’t do well. I do this (acting) because I enjoy my work,” she added.

“Joker” being flop at the Box office did not perturb Sonakshi. She says, “I was a part of the film. Everybody connected to a film, which doesn’t do well, is affected. How I treat my success, the same way I treat my failures.”

Meanwhile, the actress is all geared up for her next release, Son Of Sardar, directed by Ashwni Dhir. Sonakshi Sinha is featured as a Punjabi kudi and is seen performing various bike stunts in the film.

“It was fun and a completely different experience. The character is very colourful and vibrant. I am doing a lot in this movie, which I have not done before like action, and riding a bike,” she said.

Sonakshi is pretty confident about her movie and feels the simultaneous release will not effect both the films.

“It’s a sad fact that a legendary filmmaker passed away, just before the release of his film… I don’t think we should mix our movie and his movie and make it a topic of conversation. This decision is not in my hands, I am the actress of the film. It is something, which much senior people than me are looking into and deciding. The lesser I say, the better it will be,” she added.

Either do it one week before or after but if you have decided to do it together then release it,” Shahrukh said.

Crooned by Aman Trikha and Himesh Reshammiya, the title track sees some some heavy duty Punjabi beats, making it a very peppy number. The number has a ‘remix version’ which is just apt as a dance floor track.

Rani Tu Mein Raja

Rani Tu Mein Raja is a peppy track sung by Mika Singh and Bhavya Pandit. Singer Yo Yo Honey Singh showcases his rapping talent too. The song is a combination of western and Indian music, with very simple lyrics by Sameer Anjaan. Himesh Reshammiya’s music reminds you of the musical era of 90s. A remixed version of the same is out and we prefer the remixed one, as it is fast and furious.
Verdict: The song is bla and doesn’t really have a great impact on you.

Po Po

“Po po”, one of the best numbers in the album, is sung by Vikas Bhalla, Amit Trikha and Himesh Reshammiya. The song is amusing and celebration feel to it. A typical punjabi number penned by Shabbir Ahmed. Salman Khan’s appearance in the song gives the number a very light, lively and enthusiastic feel. The song clicks well with ears and our verdict is Good.

Tu Kamaal Di Kudi

Another Punjabi track, which will make you stand and do your bhangra moves. Featuring powerful vocals by Vineet Singh and Mamta Sharma, the song is lively and full of energy. One of the best tracks in the album, a perfect number to be played at weddings and other festive events.

Bichdaan

Brilliantly performed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the song Bichdaan is a soulful number that will leave you wanting for more. The tabla sounds really good with a tinge of techno beats thrown in here and there. Sameer’s lyrics further brings good depth. Clearly, the best track in the album.

Yeh Jo Halki Halki Khumariya

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan makes his presence felt yet again with this beautiful number. The song is breath-taking to listen to. Music by Sajid-Wajid is marvelous. The meaningful lyrics further makes the number more pleasurable to listen to. Another great number in the album.

Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein Yeh Sawaal Aata Hai

Ajay Devgn goes behind the mike for this funk number, talking about the importance of the Sikh community. The number is a combination of contemporary and desi style to it, with the use of instruments such as the dhol drums and electric guitars. A very enjoyable track.

Sources close to Salman Khan said, that if Ajay’s film doesn’t get it’s share of screen space as compared to JTHJ, then Sallu will use his position in the industry to make sure that his upcoming flick Kick will clash with SRK’s upcoming film Chennai Express.

A source said: “Once Sallu considers you his friend, he will pull out all stops to help you. Ever since he and Ajay worked together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam way back in 1999, the two have remained thick friends. Thanks to YRF’s clout, SOS could suffer. So Salman has taken things in his own hands now.”

The source added: “With Sallu joining in the big fight, the entire ballgame will now change. He will use all his resources to take on SRK.”

Recently, it was reported that Ajay Devgn sent YRF a legal notice claiming that the big banner production house is manipulating distributors and blocking the release of Son Of Sardar.

Amidst all these controversies surrounding both the movies, Ajay and Shahrukh are still keeping calm about their films. Recently Ajay said that the fight isn’t between him and Shahrukh Khan.

Ajay said: “The fight is not between Shahrukh and Ajay Devgn and there is no fight between both of us. This is unnecessarily people has created. Both of us are actors. This is Ajay Devgn as a producer, fighting for his right with some other producer and if people are playing with it then it’s wrong.”

When Shahrukh was asked about the tussle between Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardar, the actor said that he’s glad he isn’t involved in the issue as they are legal matters.

Shahrukh said at a press meet: “I was reading about it today. There are enough screens. These are all legal matters and thankfully it’s not my production company.”

He also wished Ajay the best of luck for SOS.

“I hope they resolve it and on this Friday both the films do well”, he added.
