Shahrukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan often referred to as ‘SRK’, “Badshah of Bollywood”, “King Khan”, “King of Romance” and “The King of Bollywood”, was born on 2 November 1965 and has acted in 75 Hindi films till date. The most awarded Bollywood actor, Shahrukh Khan has been a huge influence on Indian cinema.
An achiever from the start SRK was an all-rounder and a brilliant student at the St. Columba’s School. He later graduated as a student of honors’ in economics from Hansraj College and later completed his Master’s in Mass Communications from Jamia Millia Islamia. Shahrukh started his Bollywood career with theater and television serials until he made his debut in Deewana (1992). In his early career he was recognized for his unique choice of negative roles in movies like Darr (1993) and Baazigar (1993). Here is where Shahrukh Khan bagged his first Best Actor award.
He went on to do romantic movies such as Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995). Dil To Pagal Hai(1997) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) which gave him the name “the King of Romance”. His movies are some of the most successful movies to have been made in Bollywood with 12 of his movies crossing gross earnings of Rs. 100 crore worldwide.
Apart from being a successful actor, SRK is also a successful producer and television presenter. ‘Living with a superstar’ is a television show based on the life of Shahrukh Khan. He has an estimated fan following of a billion people which makes him the ‘world’s biggest movie star’ according to the Los Angeles Times and he is estimated to be worth US $540 million (Rs. 2000 crore). Shahrukh Khan is married to Gauri Khan they have two children together Aryan Khan and Suhana.
