Plot:

Arjun Kapoor ( Ajay ) is the son of a crime lord Jackie Shroff (Yashvardhan) in Delhi who runs a real estate empire and also several illegal fronts.

Rishi Kapoor (Ravikanth) along with his team Prithviraj (Arya) and Sikender Kher (Dev) kidnap Ajay and send Vishal (Ajay’s lookalike), in Ajay’s place as an informer.  But when the twin brothers are enlightened to Ravikanth’s original plan which is to take over Yashvardhan’s empire, they are stunned and find themselves in the wrong place.

The rest of the story, we leave it as a suspense as there is loads of masala and twists and turns. Atul Sabharwal has added all sorts of spices in this double-role flick. It was a well served recipe but not as convincing as it was planned by the director.

Technical Aspect:

The execution is good but seems incomplete. The second half is quite predictable and the dialogues lack intensity and conviction. No non-sense songs in the movie except for just 2-3 which gel with the movie. The theme of ‘Aurangzeb’ has been used quite sharply. The screenplay is good and everything else seems to have fallen into place idealy. No complaints but one – the dialogues could have seriously been a little more better and befitting.

Performances:

Arjun Kapoor has done a good job portraying two different kinds of roles. Rishi Kapoor has always been different in his every movie and has done the cop’s role pretty well. His dialogue delivery is as always very dominant.

Prithviraj has done a wonderful job though he looks lost in a few scenes. The role suited him perfectly and Sikender Kher has been nothing more than average. Sashaa Agha playing Arjun’s girlfriend in the movie impresses with her looks but her acting needs a lot of work. Jackie Shroff plays a clever crime lord and has done it brilliantly. His presence on the screen is heavy and very impressive. And after a long time, we witness Amrita Singh on the screen and she has pulled it off quite convincingly.

Analysis:

Overall, Aurangzeb is a movie which is quite entertaining. No scenes where I felt the movie was being slowed down or stretched. The movie had a tempo which needed to create that build-up to all the numerous twists and turns. The characters in the movie would keep you interested but the climax might baffle you up. But not a big enough reason to avoid this movie. Go watch it for Arjun’s performance and the movie’s overall theme!
