Sanjay Dutt and RGV’s fight? Remember ?Well, looks like the ‘war’ hasn’t ended.

When Ram Gopal Varma’s 2012 movie, Department, bombed at the box office, lead actor Sanjay Dutt revealed his discontent with the director very clearly. At that time, rumours were doing the rounds that the fuming actor would probably never work with him again. Varma, enraged at the insult, responded with an equally hard retort insisting that he would never see Sanjay’s face in the future. Thought months have passed by since the heat, but if rumours are to be believed, the issue might be far from over.

In Sanjay’s upcoming film, Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke, the actor takes a shot at Ram Gopal Varma. In a scene, he will be seen saying: “Ye jo story hai na, aap Ram Gopal Varma ko dena… kya jhakaas picture banega, Ram Gopal Ki Bhaag” (you should give this story to Ram Gopal Varma; what a superb film it will make, called Ram Gopal Ki Bhaag).

However, the film’s director, Jyotin Goel, doesn’t feel the dialogue will hurt any sentiments.

“Sanjay, who plays a police inspector in the film, is also a big movie buff; that’s the reason he uses RGV’s name. I don’t think this will enrage Ram Gopal Varma; he will enjoy it. It is just a joke. He shouldn’t react negatively to it,” says Jyotin, clarifying that the idea of the dialogue never came from Sanjay.

“It was part of the script. The scene features Dev Goel (debutant and lead actor) and Adah Sharma, who are trying to get out of a tricky situation. They narrate a story to Sanjay, after hearing which, he makes that comment,” says Jyotin.

Recently Bollywood is looking at its own past for inspirations and remaking it into new movies. Some have worked , some failed miserably. Come this Friday, you can see that yet another movie releasing is a remake of an old film. Chashme Baddoor is releasing this friday. Take a look at some of the movies listed below.

Himmatwala (1983) Vs Himmatwala (2013)

Starting with recent release, Sajid Khan wanted to re-create Himmatwala of 1980′s which had Jeetendra and Sridevi in the lead roles. The old movie was a super hit due to sheer performances of the actors and the story suited to that era of audience. Sajid Khan did not do anything special apart from adding few gags in the movie and remade it. Due to bad performances and story being non- sense drama. Many of the audience felt the remake was terrible.

Don (1978) Vs Don (2006)

Farhan Akhtar remade the iconic Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don starring Shahrukh Khan. The movie was most stylish at that time and apart from iconic dialogues that remained everything was tweaked a little bit like the story was reworked, the situations were changed and with SRK’s performance, the remake won many hearts. It was this movie that everybody noticed that old movies could prove to be profitable ventures. Don eventually paved for its own sequel Don 2.

Agneepath (1990) Vs Agneepath (2012)

The old Agneepath was a terrible flop. Yash Johar who made this film could not believe and was never able to get over it. So for that reason after many years, his son Karan Johar remade it. The remake was very successful. The movie went on to become the first big hit of that year. The new project was handled by debutant Karan Malhotra and starred Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra.

Sholay (1975) Vs Aag (2006)

Sholay was one film when everyone was against the movie being remade. Many people were against because the director was Ram Gopal Varma. Ramu din’t disappoint anyone and gave what the audience , a very very bad remake. From worst acting to worst screenplay and being worse in every other department we could think.

Devdas (1955) Vs Devdas (2002) Vs Dev D (2008)

Devdas is one movie which has been remade in highest number of times i.e. 11 times. It was first, made into a film in 1955. After it has been remade into many languages. In hindi it was remade into in the year 2002 under the direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali sarring SRK, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit. It was again given a modern touch by Anurag Kashyap in the movie Dev D in the year 2008 starring Abhay Deol. All the films were super hit.

Horror is one genre in Bollywood that is least explored in terms of variety. It was only done by Ramsay Brothers in 80s and 90s. But recently many filmmakers have been doing horror movies. Though many horror movies have come, but not all of them have been frightened people as much as these film below. The Top 5 horror movies in Bollywood are as follows.

5. 13 B

13B took everyone by surprise when it released because its star cast was new with Madhavan being the lead actor. The movie was pretty fresh in terms of concept which is about the television ghost. Movie was highly appreciated by critics and audiences as it had good story and perfect suspense elements.

4. Naina

Naina was another horror movie which came up with new story-line. The movie is about a blind girl who gets her eyes transplanted at the age of 25, the transplanted eyes turns out to a girl’s who use to see paranormal activities while she was alive. Urmila mantodkar delivered an exceptional performance and sound effects and camera angles were bang on to make viewers jump off the seats.

3. 1920

1920 is a movie which is highly inspired from Hollywood horror classic “Exorcist”. The best part of the movie is its cinematography and settings, they were very well suited to the theme of the movie which happens in the year 1920 and climax of the movie is very well enacted by the lead actress which gives audience goose bumps especially when lead actor scares away the ghost using Hanuman matra.

2. Raaz

When Raaz was released the only known thing about it was the producer Mahesh Bhatt. The complete cast was somewhat fresh which had Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea. The best thing about Raaz was its screenplay which makes everyone glued to the screen and music was simply fantastic, be it the songs or the sound effects, it excelled everywhere and the dark cinematography was executed with perfection. It is a must watch for horror fans!!

1. Bhoot

Bhoot is definitely Ram Gopal Varam’s best ever horror movie. What exactly RGV did for booth is, he concentrated more on acting performances rather than mindless, illogical frightening effects. Every person in the Bhoot behaves as if he is the bhoot and sound effects used in the Bhoot were truly trendsetting and inspired lot of horror movies that followed. Story was very simple but the cinematography which was always dark and horror created by RGV in a small flat was awesome. Credit should go to all the actors in the movie especially Urmila mantondkar who was once again outstanding and we don’t need to talk about Ajay Devgn who was perfect as usual.

It has been years since Bollywood has been making horror movies and in the recent past all they try do is scare people with weird sound effects and camera tricks with no logic in it. Here are some of them which are few of them. Listing worst movies is a difficult task but the list comprises of movies that fared very low than its expectation.

5. Darna Zaroori Hai

The sequel for his previous hit movie “Darna Mana Hai” totally lost the plot when it came to Horror as a genre. Though the movie was ok but in terms of horror content, this movie fails badly.

4. 3G

’3G’ was a failed connection! Embellished with cheap thrills, this doltish paranormal thriller was poorly crafted and over-indulgently repetitive.

3. Vaastu-Shastra

The entire movie was clichéd. It reminded of the old hindi horror movies by Ramsay Brothers. With no proper story and by adding weird sounds made the movie even more unbearable.

2.Ragini MMS

A direct spin off from the English “Paranormal Activity”, it did not even come near the original movie. Most of the movie was filled with the romance of the actors and less about scares.

1. Bhoot returns

The list is topped by none other Ram Gopal Varma. This Bhoot had no business returning. It could have at least saved the original Bhoot from being ruined by trying to make a sequel out of it.

Steven Speilberg was invited to Mumbai by Anil Ambani to celebrate the success of their movie Oscar winning movie “Lincoln”. Lincoln was co-produced by Spielberg’s DreamWorks along with business man Anil Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment. Here he is said to give a seminar to our Bollywood actors and directors.

“Lincoln” is a biopic on president Abraham Lincoln’s struggles during the Civil War and in securing approval for the 13th Amendment which outlaws slavery and involuntary servitude.

The director who is staying at Taj Mahal Hotel, Coloba with his wife are set to attend a gathering to celebrate the success of the movie. Here he will be giving a session to all the Bollywood members present there. And the hosts Anil and Tina Ambani are leaving no stone unturned to make this a grand affair. According to few sources there will also be a one on one session with Amitabh Bachchan and Steven Speilberg.

“It can be called masterclass session wherein Spielberg will be imparting knowledge to Indian directors and would be learning from them as well. The list includes the biggest names like Rajkumar Hirani, Anurag Kashyap, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Abhishek Kapoor, Habib Faisal, Ram Gopal Varma, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan,” said a source.

Off late item numbers have been having great impact on the movies. Now a days Item number are being used as a trailer for the films they are part of. Here is a list of item numbers which were not worth calling themselves an item number.

Mehbooba from “RGV ki Aag”

Everything about this was bad and so was the item number. Extra tanned Urmila Matondkar with skimpy clothes looked more scary than hot. It was way bad than what was done in the original.

Tinku Jiya from “Yamla Pagla Deewana”

This item number has the most annoying tone to it. We can barely watch Dharmendra and Bobby Deol getting all excited for madhuri bhattacharya. Way too tacky we say!

Channo from “Gali Gali Chor hai”

Shoddy makeup and totally obscene, is what you can tell when somebody asks about Channo. Pakistani actress Veena Malik looks like a nightmare instead of dream in this song.

Kunda Khol from “Chakravyuh”

If you put item numbers just for the sake of putting them then what you get is “Kunda khol”. Forgettable song and same booty shaking steps by Sameera Reddy makes you wonder why Prakash Jha used an item number.

Dekhta hai tu kya from “Krazzy 4″

I thought item numbers are performed by people who are beautiful, but what was Rakesh Roshan thinking when he casted Rakhi Sawant to be the item girl of his movie.

Recently released movie of RGV “The Attacks of 26/11″ which gave huge insights in the Mumbai bomb blasts to the public. On other side it has been facing harsh criticism saying that the movie is trying to cash in on the emotional tragedy which left the country in shock.

But filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma stands by his stance that “life-changing” events like the night of 26/11 must be chronicled. He is happy with the response to his movie “The Attacks of 26/11″, and maintains that it is not against any community or a religion. He said “I think it’s very important that life-changing events like those what happened on the night of 26/11 should be chronicled in every manner – be it through books or documentaries or feature films”.

RGV said “Well as long as I was clear about my intent and the honesty in my heart, I didn’t want to give importance to the people who were accusing me of all kinds of things without even knowing in what context I was wanting to make the 26/11 attacks into a film. “I even got the permissions for shooting in the original locations because once they understood my intent, everyone more or less went out of their way to co-operate with me. Understandably, the Taj management didn’t want to for the reason that its a running hotel and also they didn’t want to revisit the tragedy.”

The movie, released March 1, featured Nana Patekar and Sanjeev Jaiswal who themselves have been receiving great reviews for their performances as well.

Ram Gopal Varma has been struggling to taste the success at the box-office since ‘Sarkar’ which was released back in 2006. But however, he was always able to grab attention towards him by making controversial and terrible movies.

But now he is showing promising signs through his upcoming movie ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ which is based on Mumbai attacks which took place in 2008 and killed 166 people at Hotel Taj in Mumbai.Flick stars Nana Patekar in the lead role and also features Atul Kilkarni and Ganesh Yadav as the supporting cast. Movie is also being shot in English simultaneously and will be released worldwide.

Giving the confirmation, Ram Gopal Varma said: “‘Attacks of 26/11′ is also in English. The film is the same, it is just that the lines are in English and Nana and other actors have spoken their lines in the Queen’s language.”

Nana said: “I do not know how to speak English. I mugged up my lines and said them in English.”

Releasing March 1, the crime saga will hit the screens with 1,100 digital prints and 165 analogue prints in Hindi and Telugu languages. Release date of English version of the movie is not yet revealed.

Hope Ram Gopal Varma will end his success drought with this movie.

John Abraham, who was confirmed to portray the lead role in ‘Satya 2’ which is the sequel to Ram Gopal Varma’s iconic crime drama ‘Sataya’ which was released in 1998. But now it seems that John Abraham is out of the movie and is confirmed by RGV himself.

The movie had most influential characters like Manoj Bajpai, J.D.Chakravarthy, Urmila Mantodkar, etc. However, RGV wanted to make movie with completely new characters with no connection to the prequel. This is the main reason why John had step out of the project right away which is what speculated.

Meanwhile, RGV made everything clear saying “John is not a part of the production. But the film has already started and is about 30% complete. ‘Satya 2’ is slated for an early June release.”

But we are not yet sure if this is the exact reason why John had to move out of the movie. Let’s hope there is no other controversy between RGV and John Abraham.

On the flip-side RGV is very confident about the movie’s outcome considering its story-line. Details of other cast is not yet revealed. We have to wait and see if the sequel will reach the standards set by ‘Satya’ which had created a new genre all together in Indian Cinema and inspired lot of young directors like Anurag Kashyap and Vishal Bharadwaj.

Ram Gopal Varma will release the theatrical trailer of Satya 2 alongside his upcoming film The Attacks of 26/11. Satya 2 is the sequel of 1998 superhit film Satya.

“The trailer of Satya 2 will be attached with The Attacks of 26/11″, said a reliable source that is close to the team.

The original film,Satya, which was directed by RGV had actors like J.D Chakravarthy, Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpai and Shefali Shah. The new installment of the film will reportedly star fresh faces.

The maverick director said that nearly 50 percent of the shooting for Satya 2 has been completed. According to him,”I have almost finished 50 percent of shooting for Satya 2. The entire film will be shot in Mumbai. Right now, I can’t talk much about the films as I am busy with ‘The Attacks of 26/11.”

The film Satya has been referred to as a modern masterpiece and “perhaps” one of the best films of the 1990s. The film marked the introduction of a new genre of film making – Mumbai Noir as opposed to the term Film Noir. It remains to be seen whether the sequel is going to live up to the standard of its predecessor.
