The film adopts a new form of storytelling known as the Motion Capture technique where all of the Tamil superstar’s actions would be heightened and amplified through special effects.

Understandably, Rajini is said to be anxious and has asked Kamal Hassan, known to have a deep comprehension of cinema, to step in to suggest changes. Only then will Rajinikanth decide on a release date.

“Rajini considers Kamal to be extremely cinema literate. He respects Kamal’s judgement on cinema. Since this film is crucial (for him), he has asked Kamal to view the film,” said a source from Chennai.

A suitable date for the screening is being arranged.

Speaking fondly about his friendship and rivalry with Rajinikanth, Kamal says: “I’d do anything he asks me to, no question of refusing him. Both of us were young actors who started from scratch. He was the bus conductor with acting aspirations. I was the clapper boy who got the clap in my very film (Kamal Haasan played a character with venereal disease in his first adult role).

“We didn’t have fathers to make movies for us. But we had the same godfather K. Balachander. We’ve done around 10 films together, most of them were hits, though we did have failures. We’ve done three films for our mutual mentor Balachander,” he added.

Kamal also says he can never say ‘no’ to Rajinikanth.

“I’ve done guest roles in Rajini’s films. It’s quite strange, but our paths as actors were always intertwined. Initially we were both typecast as villains. I got fed up doing those and went away to Kerala to do Malayalam films. Then his career as a villain took off, and I returned to Chennai to pursue a career in Tamil cinema.

“We made our way up together. Rajini once pointed out that though he’s four years my senior, I’m his senior professionally and that he would take my advice about doing a film with me, if there’s an occasion for us to star together,” he added.

Kamal doesn’t rule out the possibility of doing another film with Rajinikanth.

“It depends. He said if we do a film together, he won’t direct it. It has to be either me or someone else. It would be quite interesting to do a film with him,” he said.

Apparently, there are rumours that Rajnikanth will be seen opposite ‘The Dirty Picture’ siren Vidya Balan in her next film with K.V. Anand. Further details of the movie have not been disclosed so far. And maybe they won’t be disclosed until the release of Kochadaiyaan.

In another coincidence, while Vidya Balan has been selected to be among the jury members in this year’s Cannes Festival, Kochadaiyaan’s trailer would be showcased at Cannes this year and Rajini is also expected to attend the festival. It must be noted that it is the 66^th edition of the festival and the D-Day is May 15.

Rajnikanth bats for Sanjay Dutt!

In other news, while the whole Bollywood industry his voicing their support for Sanjay Dutt, superstar Rajnikanth has also joined them.

Rajnikanth, whom Sanjay Dutt even paid a visit during his recent shooting schedule in Chennai, has batted for the Khalnayak star saying that he is pleased about the chorus of support for Sanjay Dutt and that he will pray to God to ensure that his remaining life can be spent at peace.

Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, later rechristened Rajinikanth was a bus conductor, and today, he is one of the most admired superstars in the world. On this grand day, the film industry recalls what makes Rajinikanth so so so very special.

Viji Chandrasekhar, Rajini’s younger sister in Tamil comedy “Thillu Mullu”, says, Rajnikanth treats everybody equally and that’s why he is so great and special.

“He treats everybody on sets with utmost respect and equal importance. Be it a light boy or a co-star, he doesn’t discriminate for any reason,” Viji told.

She also said that Rajnikanth is a very simple man, who takes success and failure in the same stride.

“I’ve learnt to be simple while working with him on the sets of the film. Though he plays a hero in the film, he is simple in real life. Most importantly, he knows how to take success and failure in the same stride,” she added.

Tamil filmmaker Lakshmy Ramakrishnan said, Rajinikanth doesn’t believe he is a superstar and that’s what makes him one.

“He never believes or wanted to be called a superstar, but he is one because people made him. Superstars are not born, they are made. But if someone desperately tries to be a superstar, they’re sure to fail,” said Ramakrishnan.

Rajinikanth debuted in the year 1975 with Tamil film “Apoorva Raagangal” and has appeared in over 175 films. Rajnikanth shaped his initial career with negative roles. With his gimmicks and dialogue delivery instantly touching a chord with the younger audience, Rajnikanth delivered some of the biggest blockbusters, including ‘Thalapathi’ directed by Mani Ratnam, ‘Annamalai’, ‘Basha’, ‘Padayappa’ and the more recent ‘Enthiran’, a sci-fi thriller.

Southern filmmaker Suresh Krissna, who has worked with the megastar in four Tamil films – “Baasha”, “Veera”, “Annamalai” and “Baba”, feels Rajnikanth is a superstar both on and off the screen.

“So many actors, who’ve been very successful, have come and gone, but Rajinikanth is and will remain a superstar forever. He’s the true bearer of the star tag because people love him on reel and in real life,” said Suresh. He added, “”Baasha” is a milestone in his career.”

“Every event or gathering I attended post ‘Baasha’, at least one question was asked about my experience with Rajini on the sets of the film. People started recognizing me particularly for this film and the popularity I received was inexplainable.”

Today’s special:- 3D version of Rajnikanth’s blockbuster film “Sivaji” will release today. Also, Tamil film titled “Alex Pandian”, which is named after the character the actor essayed in the Tamil film “Moondru Mugam”, will release its audio, today.

Leggy lass Deepika Padukone is all set to star opposite superstar Rajinikanth in Tamil movie Kochadaiyaan. Reportedly, the actress has been immensely inspired by Rajnikanth.

Deepika said, “Working with him in ‘Kochadaiyaan’ was very inspiring for the kind of energy he brings to the sets even after working for so many years… he has that passion one can easily see in his eyes. After his illness, I saw the same passion”.

“We are trying out a new technique in ‘Kochadaiyaan’, the performance-capturing technique. So it’s a completely new experience for me. While the emotions are what I’ve conveyed, the technique used is completely new,” Deepika added.

Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin makes her directorial debut with Kochadaiyaan. The film will also release in Hindi, Malayalam, Japanese, Telugu and English.

Deepika said, “As for Japanese or Telugu, I don’t know these languages. The idea is to make this a big international film coming from India. It isn’t only a Tamil language film.”
