Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai started her career at the age of 17 as Bani Walia in the Hindi television serial Kasamh Se. The role brought her lot of fame and many awards as well. After 2 years and 564 episodes, Prachi left the series to make her Bollywood debut in the film Rock On! in the year 2008. The film brought her lot critical acclaim. Even though the film was an average grosser at the box-office, it went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.

Rock On! opened Prachi’s door to Bollywood and she went on to work in film’s like Life Partner, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and Bol Bachchan. For OUTIM, Prachi received her second Filmfare nomination and went on to win several other awards. Critic Taran Adarsh said,”Prachi Desai is striking, getting ample opportunity to showcase her talent. In fact, one hopes to see more of this talented actress in zany entertainers.” Her role in Bol Bachchan was well received as well. Director Rohit Shetty said,”What I like about Prachi is that she’s extremely talented and very sincere. She is a natural performer. With time and experience, she will grow into a star.”

Desai’s latest release is I, Me aur Main opposite John Abraham. She got rave reviews for her performance inspite of the movie’s dismal performance at the box office. She was termed by critics as the ‘highlight of the film’.

Desai will further be seen in Kollywood director K.S. Ravi Kumar’s Bollywood debut film which will also be starring Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj. The film is set for a June 2013 release.

Her other projects include the sequel to Rock On! in which she will be seen reprising her role, she has also been signed for VIkram Bhatt’s horror flick 1920 London.
