If sources are to be believed, the actors will be seen in Prabhudheva’s next untitled film produced by Gordhan Tanwani of Baba Films. Buzz is also that Yami Gautam of “Vicky Donor” fame has been finalised for an interesting role for the new project.

“It’s not a relaunch! Shruti is Kamal Haasan’s daughter. Who am I to relaunch her,” Prabhudheva told IANS.

Shruti has earlier featured in Bollywood films like “Luck” and “Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji”, which didn’t manage to elicit the expected response. But Prabhudheva had his reasons to cast the actress in his directorial.

“I was confused whether to take a new girl or an established actress, but Shruti looked perfect for the role. You will realise why I cast Shruti once you see the film. She is beautiful, (and as a) dancer she is superb,” he said,

“Ramaya Vastavaiya”, releasing July 19, also features Girish Kumar.

He has thanked producer Kumar Taurani of Tips Industries Ltd. for offering him a love story at a time when all producers wanted him to make action films.

“Actually thanks to Tips as everybody wanted me to do an action movie, and they gave me the opportunity to make a love story,” Prabhudheva said at the film’s music launch here Wednesday.

He says “Ramaiya Vastavaiya” is more about “relationships and values”.

“It is more of a feel good movie, but still there is more (about) relationship and values,” he said.

The film marks the launch of Taurani’s son Girish Kumar. He is paired opposite actor Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti in the movie.

Slated to release July 19, the film also stars veteran actors Vinod Khanna and Randhir Kapoor.

Says a source, “While shooting Rowdy Rathore the team had decided to reunite for another Tamil remake. Ramana rights had been purchased by Sanjay Bhansali. And Prabhu was on board in principle. But then after Rowdy Rathore, he got exceedingly busy as a director with Ramaiya Vastavaiya, the film launching newcomer Girish Taurani followed by Rambo Rajkumar. After that Prabhu immediately goes into his film with Ajay Devgn.”  

Infact, there was a choice for Prabhu Deva between directing Akshay Kumar in the Ramana remake and Devgn in an untitled original film. Eventually Prabhu decided not to direct remakes of South Indian films.

Says Prabhu sorrowfully, “They asked me to do this film. I’d have loved to. It would have been a new experience for me. So far I’ve only directed out-and-out entertainers. Ramana has strong social message. I’m at the moment completing Ramaiya Vastavaiya and Rambo Rajkumar. Both original scripts. In July, I start my film with Ajay Devgn and that too is an original script. Moreover isn’t it good to work with new actors and a new team constantly? Repetition makes you stagnant.” 

We also hear reports that Ajay Devgn had made it very clear that he wants Prabhu Deva to make a full-on action entertainer. “My films also serve a social purpose. They’re designed to be stress-busters. They make audiences forget their worries. Ajay Devgn’s  film too is a complete masala script, guaranteed to make everybody forget their worries,” promises Prabhu Dheva.

The actor is playing a stunt man in his new movie, ‘Rambo Rajkumar’  where he will seen beating up not less than 40 men at once.

“Shahid Kapoor is performning all the stunts by himself, inlcuding some that are quite dangerous,”  according to a source. .

Producer Viki Rajani confirms, “Apart from working on his flexibility and strength, Shahid also trained for some heavy duty action including one which includes fighting over 40 men.”

Sure! But the record of beating maximum men belongs to Sunny Deol. Didn’t he beat up entire village in Pakistan in Gaddar?

In one action sequence, the actor of Kaminey, will be seen fighting 40 men – a signature in Prabhu Deva’s films. Shahid has even gone on to train for hand-to-hand combat for these intense fighting sequences. Looks like,  the trend started by Aamir of being a perfectionist has been taken up by the whole of Bollywood.

Rambo Rajkumar along with Shahid Kapoor, also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood. The movie is directed by Prabhu Deva under the banner, Next Gen Films. The film is expected to release in November this year.

ABCD was pleasant surprise in the B-town, it broke the stereotype of dance concentric movies not working in Bollywood and became an instant hit. It opened to relatively less crowds, but then it picked up later after excellent response from the audience, critics and grossed 45 crores. Considering its low budget in the making the movie can be termed as Blockbuster.

Matru Ki Bijili Ka Mandola

Starring Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapoor in the lead roles, directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, MKBKM was an experimental fare for Vishal Bharadwaj who normally directs intense emotional dramas. But however movie opened with good collections after its good music, exciting promos and then it received decent response from the crowd and went on to collect 39 crores becoming a super-hit.

Kai Po Che

Kai Po che was a movie based on Chetan Bhagat’s famous novel “Three Mistakes of My Life”. The initial promos of the movie were very appealing and upon the release it was praised by lot of critics and celebrities which gave Kai Po che very good start. It’s collections were very sturdy for the 1st 3 weeks in multiplexes as a result it grossed over 45 crores despite of new star cast leaving every one shell shocked.

The movie this time won’t be produced by Saif Ali khan’s Illumnati Films and will be produced by Reliance Entertainments.” Prabhudheva will first complete his yet-untitled film with Ajay Devgn before he takes up the Saif-starrer. The idea is to come up with a entertainer, the genre that Prabhu sir excels in. If all goes well, the film will go on the floors by March next year,” says an insider” Said the source.

“Saif and Prabhudheva have already had discussions about the storyline. But both of them are yet to discuss other details of the project since they are caught up with their respective films (while Prabhudheva is busy with the post-production of Ramaiyya Vastavaiyya, Saif is wrapping up Bullet Raja,” adds the source.

Prabhudeva, who delivered blockbusters like “Wanted”, “Rowdy Rathore” is now the director in demand and is directing Ajay Devgn next and then Saif Ali Khan’s project will go onto the sets.

Hope this movie will clear the apprehensions that Saif Ali Khan as a sole hero cannot cross 100 crore.

But directors seem to be very confident about Shahid’s talent. He is now acting in two promising movies “Phata Poster Nikla Hero” and “Rambo Rajkumar” which are directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and Prabhu Deva respectively.

Rajkumar Santoshi who feels Shahid is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood said “I always knew Shahid was extremely talented. Now when I’ve worked with him, I am amazed at how versatile he really is. In my film, he has to portray both dark and light shades. He handles both the comic and dramatic scenes with equal ease. His mother-son scenes with Padmini Kolhapure brought tears to my eyes. And he is so hands-on on the sets; it’s a delight to work with an actor so focused on his work. I am definitely working with Shahid again.”

Prabhudeva was very impressed with Shahid’s acting in ‘Kaminey’ and ‘Mausam’ and feels he has terrific acting skills present in him, also said “We are starting the film in Gujarat on March 1 with a song. I like to begin shooting with a song. It makes the entire team happy and light-hearted.”

Also known as India’s best dancer Prabhudeva praised dancing skills of Shahid Kapoor saying “he is definitely one of the swiftest dancers in India”.
