Lara Dutta was born on 16 April 1978 to a army family. She was crowned Miss Universe in the year 2000. After that she made her debut with the film Andaaz alongside Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. She won Filmfare award for this role. After that role, she did not do any significant work. Her next hit movie came after long time in the form of Bhagam Bhaag. She went on act in big projects like Partner and Billu Barber and Housefull. She started her own production company and produced her first film Chalo Dilli. She is married to tennis player Mahesh Bhupati and she gave birth to her daughter Saira.
