He says neither can he, nor will audiences be able to see anybody else in the role instead of Sanjay, who is currently in jail serving his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

“I can’t (work in the film without Sanjay) because for that character, you can’t think of any other person now. That character has a definite structure and a definite personality that matches a lot with that of Sanju’s personality,” Arshad said here Friday on the sidelines of the DVD launch of his last release “Jolly LLB”

“Yes, we have received offers for remakes in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. We are in talks with some producers who want to buy the rights of the film.” The production house also seems to be in two minds about selling the rights to the Tamil remake. “We are into producing Tamil films ourselves, so we’ll have to discuss that further,” said Vijay Singh, chief executive officer at the Fox Star Studios, confirming the news.

However, he is tight-lipped about the producers who have approached them for the remake rights. He said,“The paperwork is yet to be completed so we won’t be able to disclose any names. Rest assured, the transaction will get done this week.”

Jolly LLB is the first full-fledged Hindi production undertaken by Fox. Made in a budget of Rs.13.5 crore, the film is on its way to make profits. Singh said,“We are expecting to bag Rs.31 crore by the end of this week. We are already in a profit making situation.”

Jolly LLB stars Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles. Amrita Rao is also a part of the film.

Last week’s releases, Fox Star Studio’s ‘Jolly LLB’, Eros International’s ‘3 G’ and Yash Raj Film’s ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ saw a poor opening at the Box office. Despite being big banner films, all the three releases failed to lure the cine-goers.

Compared to the other two, Subhash Kapoor’s Arshad Warsi-Boman Irani starrer proved to be the only film which had a decent earning on the opening day – Rs 3.12 crores. The film had a superb Sunday, collecting a sum of Rs. 5.16 crores. Weekend total of jolly LLB was Rs 12.51 crores.

Neil Nitin Mukesh satrrer ‘3G’ seems to have done better in smaller centres and collected Rs 3.53 cr nett in its opening weekend, with Friday collecting a sum of Rs. 1.08 cr, Saturday – 1.10 cr and Sunday – 1.35 cr. The film’s overall weekend performance remained very poor.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti opening collections were a little over 4 crores. The Northern territories have performed the best, but the business in some circuits was below average. Despite being a low-budget flick, Mere dad Ki Maruti fared better than 3G, all thanks to the film’s branding and advertising.

Another reason why all the three films fared below expectations is because of the on-going exams.

This Friday sees Bipasha Basu starrer Aatma and Jackky Bhagnani starrer Rangrezz.

Says the 44-year-old, “When people accept such films, it opens doors for good cinema. There are a lot of good filmmakers who cannot make their films because they are into this kind of cinema.” The actors was on the sets of TV show “Safar Filmy Comedy Ka”, where he was present to promote Jolly LLB.

“When films like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Barfi!’ work and if ‘Jolly LLB’ also works, a lot of those writers, who write such movies will be encouraged to come forward. This is good cinema and it should be made,” he added.

Jolly LLB is a social satire on the law system of India. Arshad plays a lawyer in the film.

It is learnt that Shahrukh Khan was approached to play Arshad Warsi’s role. But later, the director returned to Arshad with the script.

“Subhash had thought about this long time back and he wanted to cast me in it even then. But I couldn’t meet him because of some problem due to my secretary and then he went to Shah Rukh. But there was some date issue and he came back to me, I heard the story, loved it and said yes,” Arshad said.

Jolly LLB, releasing March 15, also features Boman Irani and Amrita Rao.

Khan’s marriage recently became a hot topic of discussion between Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani at an award function. Arshad and Boman play rival lawyers in their upcoming film Jolly LLB film, and so the duo enacted a skit on stage, debating over Salman Khan’s marriage. A very interesting way to promote a film, indeed.

While Boman was in favor of the superstar getting married, Arshad Warsi was against it. Salman played the judge and seem to be having fun watching the two fight over his single status.

Arshad said, “Salman found the entire skit to be humourous. He is a very sporting guy and thoroughly enjoyed our act. It was more of a joke for entertaining the audience. I am sure that Salman will break many hearts, the day he actually decides to get married. At that moment, as a judge, I am sure he thought that whether or not he gets married he needs to first do away with Boman and I.”

Boman said, “I kept asking Salman for reasons to not get married but he was completely okay with our act. The entire argument turned out to be so funny. Salman could not help but laugh.”

It is the prequel to 2007 Bollywood film Shootout at Lokhandwala based on the book Dongri to Dubai written by Hussain Zaidi’s. The film will dramatise the first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai police, where gangster Manya Surve was shot dead, which took place at the junction next to Dr.Ambedkar college, Wadala, Mumbai on 1 November 1982. The movie will hit theaters in May.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is based on former Indian athlete Milkha Singh. The story talks about his perseverance as an athlete and also as a courageous human spirit. the movie will release on July 12, 2013.

The plot revolves around the lives of three different men named David, who are about to take a step which is going to change their lives forever. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the movie stars Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Vinay Virmani in the titular roles, alongside Tabu, Lara Dutta and Isha Sharvani.
