Director duo Abbas-Mustan, experts in the action genre, will go behind the camera to direct the actioner.

Talking about the lead actors, Abbas told IANS: “They suit the characters well and they were also appreciated in ‘Dostana’. It’s a complete action film and we shall go on the floors as soon as we lock their dates.”

“We are in talks with a few actresses for the leading role, but nothing has been finalised so far,” he added.

Directed by N. Linguswamy, “Vettai” was released in 2012 and the film featured R. Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul.

The success bash of ‘Shootout at Wadala’ was a star studded affair, held at the 212 Lounge in Mumbai, on Tuesday evening. Celebs including John Abraham, Kangana Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Anil Kapoor, and Sophie Chaudhary sparkled the event with their presence.

The film is in it’s second week and continues to rule the box office with a cash collection of Rs 53.94 crore till Monday.

Tusshar Kapoor wrote on Twitter after attending the Shootout at Wadala success bash: “Just got back from the SAW bash, full on paisa vasool just like the film! Cheers to another steady week at the box office! Ala re Ala success party Ala!”

John Abraham looks all set to be the lead in Shubash Ghai’s remake of 1993 blockbuster ‘Khalnayak’.

Shubash Ghai has produced several classic hits like Karma, Hero, Ram Lakhan and is now considering to re-make his old movies with a modern approach.

“My films ‘Hero’, ‘Karma’, ‘Ram Lakhan’ and ‘Khalnayak’ will be re-written and will be made in a fresh way,” he said.

At present the director is working on the remake of ‘Khalnayak’ which did wonders for Sanjay Dutt’s career.

“We are planning something on ‘Khalynayak’. We are working on that. We have few directors on board and we will make the announcement soon. We don’t want to reveal much now,” Ghai added.

“We are looking to present the story in a contemporary way.”

But when asked of John’s presence in the project, Ghai dodged the question saying, “We are still in the scripting stage. Once we finish scripting, we will think about the star cast. For us, the idea and the concept come first.”

Even if John is not seen in the movie, we can be sure of the fact the Sanjay Dutt won’t be a part of the remake as he shall be serving his jail sentence in connection to the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case.

Released Friday, “Shootout At Wadala” has got positive response from both critics and viewers and earned Rs.30.7 crore in the opening weekend.

“Sanjay Gupta is the best director for me. He is amazing. He is outstanding. He gave me my life and he re-introduced me as Manya Surve. I am very, very indebted to him,” John said here at his residence Tuesday where he gifted his favourite bike, a VMax, to the director.

He said that after his production venture “Vicky Donor”, for the first time he has “got so many messages for my performance as an actor”.

“It’s big relief for me and at the same time, like I say, there is no good or bad actor and there is no good or bad director,” the 41-year-old added.

According to an insider, Ekta Kapoor has offended a group called ‘Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj’, so much so that many theatres in North Indian cities like Ludhiana,Jalandhar, Bathinda, Amritsar and Moga has cancelled the movie screening of Shootout at Wadala. The movie contains a dialogue or two which has rubbed the community in the wrong way.

The National Director of the community, Laxman Dravid said, “We have already sent legal notices to producer of the film, Ekta Kapoor, and director Sanjay Gupta. They should think twice before saying anything against Valmikiji. These dialogues could have serious repercussions in whole nation.”

On the other hand, the community members say that if the those scenes are censored, they will not have any problems. Deepak Hans, President of Dr Ambedkar Ekta Mission said “In one dialogue, an actor has used wrong language for Valmikiji by saying har chor valmiki nahi hota and in other dialogue John Abraham says Eklavya ne angutha dia tha, main poora haath de dunga. Once these are censored, we have no objection to the movie,”
