Jackie Shroff was born on 1 February 1960 in Mumbai into a Gujarati family. Before starting his career in Bollywood, Jackie Shroff appeared in a few commercials where he was spotted by Subhash Ghai, who gave him his break.
He made his debut with Hero in 1983 alongside Meenakshi Sheshadri and delivered a hit. After that he went on to appear in many movies which include Karma, Ram Lakhan, Parinda, 1942 A Love Story, Trimurti, 100 days, Border, Lajja, Tridev and Devdas. As of 2013, Jackie has appeared in over 150 movies and has been awarded three Filmfare awards and has been nominated 5 times in various categories. In 2007, Jackie was awarded the Special Honour Jury Award for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
Jackie Shroff married his long time girlfriend Ayesha Dutt and they have two childern, Tiger, who is preparing for his Bollywood debut and daughter Krishna.
