Imran Khan, nephew of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and grandson of noted filmmaker Nasir Hussain was born on 13 Jan 1983 in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Born Imran Pal, he changed his name to Imran Khan after his parents divorced. Imran Khan had already appeared as a child artist in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jheeta Wohi Sikander in which he played the role of Aamir Khan as a kid. Imran wanted to become a director and enrolled himself into the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles where he specialized in Film making. After returning to India he began training at an acting institute in Andheri mentored by Kishore Namit Kapoor. Imran got his lucky breakthrough in 2008 when he was roped in by Abbas Tyrewala for Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na, which was produced by his Uncle Aamir Khan. The movie received tremendous response and he went on to win the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Male. Later that year he starred in Kidnap opposite Sanjay Dutt and the movie failed miserably at the B.O.
His next three movies Luck, I Hate Luv Storys and Break Ke Baad received a mixed response from viewers and each time he was criticized for his acting. Finally his luck changed in 2011 when he starred in Delhi Belly another Aamir Khan production which also starred Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das. The movie was a super hit and Imran was amongst the favorites suddenly. Later that year he was cast with Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar in Meri Brother Ki Dulhan which also proved lucky for him. In 2012 he had just one release, Ekk Mein Aur Ekk Tu opposite Katrina Kaif for which he was praised by the critics because of his acting. As of now, Imran Khan is awaiting the release of his next film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, which is a dark comedy and also stars Anushka Sharma. Later this year he will be seen in Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2.
