“Emraan and Altaf will perform live in three cities, including Delhi, Ahmedabad and Indore. The promotions will begin by the mid of June,” said a source.

Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the film will see Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan as husband and wife. It is slated for a June 28 release.

“(Director) Rajkumar Gupta is indeed on vacation. He is in Italy… Emraan (Hashmi) has left for a vacation with his family and Vidya (Balan) is in Cannes for official work, post which she also has a vacation,” said a source close to the movie.

“Thanks to sync sound, the film does not need actors to dub for the film. Almost everything has been locked. It is great that the entire team is taking a break before they start the promotion of ‘Ghanchakkar’,” the source added.

“Ghanchakkar”, releasing June 28, is said to be a quirky comedy surrounding a marriage between a Maharashtrian man and a loud Punjabi housewife.

“It is true that I have scrapped the scene that would have featured Sanjay Dutt in ‘Ghanchakkar’. The scene could have only been possible with him, but I realised that we cannot shoot it right now,” Gupta said in a statement.

Sanjay is working in shifts to complete his unfinished projects as he has got a four-week reprieve from the Supreme Court to finish his Bollywood films.

The 53-year-old was sentenced to six years in jail in 2007 for possessing illegal weapons from men convicted for the Mumbai blasts that killed 260 people, but he has been out on bail ever since. In March, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal against his conviction, but reduced his sentence to five years and ordered him to return to prison on or before April 18, but later he got four weeks’ reprieve.

“Without him the scene did not make sense as it would have had Sanjay playing himself. It was a very situational scene. However, it won’t be in my movie anymore,” Gupta added.

The lead pair in “Ghanchakkar” is Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan and it is slated for a June 28.

Titled “Jholuraam”, the song describes Emraan’s character in the film and it was shot in Mumbai over the weekend. A source close to the team told IANS that Emraan came up with quirky steps for himself and Altaf Raja during the shoot.

Director Rajkumar Gupta admits that the song will reflect the actor’s creative inputs.

“Emraan is a real professional actor. He has great insight into things. It was his idea to carry the look he has in the film for the music video and I have to say that has worked wonders,” Gupta said in a statement.

“He always comes up with suggestions that are really helpful. He is totally invested in ‘Ghanchakkar’ and when you see the music video of ‘Jholuraam’ featuring him and Altaf Raja, you will see Emraan’s touch in it too,” added Gupta.

“Ghanchakkar”, which also features Vidya Balan, is slated to release June 28.

Gupta, writer-director of “Ghanchakkar”, told IANS: “Yes, it is true that for the first time in my career, I will be shooting a music video for any of my films.”

Source close to the team revealed: “Emraan will go bare body for one of the scenes in the film. He has been maintaining himself really well to take his shirt off for the scene.”

“In ‘Ghanchakkar’, he will show his agile self in several scenes,” the source added.

Well, this is not the first time for Emraan to show off his hot bod. Murder 2 also saw him exposing his six-pack abs.

Says a source, “In Ghanchakkar, he will show his fit body in several scenes. Apparently there is a sequence in which Emraan also exhibits his fit-bod and has done some of his own stunts inside a moving train. Now that reminds us of Salman Khan, who always drops off his shirt at least once in a film, and also has serious action scenes in all his films.”

The 33-year-old is known for locking lips with his co-stars in almost all his films including “Murder” and “Zeher”.
