Salman Khan remains the box office king since his 2008 block buster movie Wanted was released. Since then Salman has been unstoppable with back-to-back hits, all grossing over 100 crores! He’s undoubtedly ruled the Box Office. Salman is now looking forward to his next venture Mental directed by his brother Sohail Khan. Yes, Mental had some problems but looks like all is finally well now. “The film is shaping really well and looks really cute,” said Salman in an interview recently.

In the same interview Salman Khan also spoke about his third installment of Dabangg.  “We are looking for a good plot and a nice script for Dabangg 3. We will star working on the project once that is finalised,” said Salman in the same interview. Well, this really excites us as much as the news might have excited you! We can’t wait for Sallu to give us another block buster!

The Dabangg franchise has been running really strong as the first and second installments were humongous. We are already sure that the third part would also create havoc at the box office as the first two did.

Ekta Kapoor, who has been behind controversial films like Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Kya Super Cool Hai Hum and Ragini MMS, believes Indian men need to change their mentality towards women.

“I appreciate Salman Khan and Arbaaz for their progressive thinking and incorporating the same in the film. Arbaaz very well utilised Salman’s stardom to highlight the responsibilities a man towards his wife and society. There were four scenes in the film that really took me by surprise,” Ekta said.

“Mentality of men in India is becoming a problem. Men do not feel any social responsibility. Our culture is stopping women everytime. The main idea behind making The Dirty Picture was to make people aware of women’s sexuality. When John Abraham goes shirtless nobody has a problem but when our actresses do that everyone wants to chop off that scene,”  added Ekta Kapoor while speaking on ‘Sex, nudity, dance numbers and kisses during at the centenary Film Festival.

Ekta was critisized for promoting witchcraft in her last movie Ek Thi Daayan.The 37-year-old producer said she was shocked to be blamed like this.

“It was a horror film and I didn’t promote any witchcraft in it. I even got a letter from National Commission of Women where to my surprise, I was charged for using the Nirbhaya issue during the promotion of the film. I used a bus which was titled ‘The bus to hell’ and they assumed I roped in the rape case to promote my film,” said Ekta.

Ek Thi Daayan Directed by Kannan Iyer, the film deals with witches, witchcraft and are inspired by folklores. Ek Thi Daayan has been produced jointly by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj.

Housefull 2

Akshay Kumar reprises his role in Housefull this time as a cool nerd. The sequel to the hit 2007 Housefull, the second part is even funnier and has better laughs. Probably one of the finest sequels, Housefull 2 also boasted of a much talented star cast than the previous one.

Dabangg 2

Salman Khan was back on the big screen as Chulbul Pandey once again. Dabangg 2 which release in December smashed all the records of the prequel. Also, it’s the highest grossing sequel in the history of Indian cinema. The cast was exactly the same except of Prakash Raj stepping into Sonu Sood’s shoes as the villain this time.

Jism 2

Jism which released in 2000 starred John Abraham and Bipasha Basu. The film was a career changing one for both the actors. Jism 2 stars Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone and Randeep Hooda. Sunny’s acting wasn’t that great except of her skin show and Randeep was good. The movie was declared a hit at the Box Office.

Raaz 3

Vikram Bhatt returned back to direct Raaaz 3 after the first part. With his experience in the horror genre, people were expecting this one to be filled with spooks. The film lived up to the expectations and was a blockbuster within the first week of it’s release.

Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum

Kya Super Kool Hai Hum is the sequel of Kya Kool Hai Hum which also features Ritesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor. The film was criticized by the critics but got rave reviews from the viewers. The movie made a good amount of profit and was declared a hit.

The film being a non-holiday release, saw a exceptional response as it’s first-day collection at the box office was Rs. 21 crore nett. Within a week of it’s release Dabangg 2 made it to the 100 crore club and added another Rs. 8 crore nett on the seventh day, totally making it to Rs. 108 crore nett.

However, due to new year celebrations, there was a slight dip in the film’s collection in the second week. Yet it managed to collect Rs. 36 crore, making the two-week total to Rs. 144 crore nett. In the third week, the film brought in an added 8 crore, totally collecting Rs. 152 crore nett.

It seems difficult but not impossible for Dabangg 2 to reach the 200 crore club. The film is anyway declared a blockbuster.

The next big release is Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola starring Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma, which will hit theaters this Friday.

Meanwhile, the romantic comedy Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola has been given U/A certificate from the Indian Censor Board of Film Certification, making the movie fit for family audiences, including those under 18.

Crazy Lover- Akaashvani

Crazy Lover is a superb track. The lyrics have been sung by Vishal Dadlani and he does a wonderful job. The song is more like an item number and will definitely work amongst the youth audience.

Fevicol Se- Dabangg 2

Fevicol Se is a crude item number from Dabangg 2. The song is grabbing eye balls and people are whistling every time they see Kareena Kapoor’s moves in the song. The lyrics are raunchy and hilarious and will work with most sections of the audience.

Oye Boy Charlie- Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

Oye Boy Charlie is a very funny and groovy number. Anushka Sharma, Imran Khan and Pankaj Kapoor shake a leg together in the song. The song has been shot in Haryana.

Party On My Mind- Race 2

Party on my mind and it features the entire cast of the film. Deepika Padukone sets the temperature soaring and looks like a beautiful dream. Over all the it’s a good and peppy number.

Pandeyji Seeti Maare- Dabangg 2

Pandeyji Seete Maare features Malaika Arora Khan, and her magic is expected to work again! Queen of item songs, singer Mamta Sharma croons to glory in this number and she is supported well by Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal

The year 2012 was a lucky one for Salman as both his movies – Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 have broken previous records. Ek Tha Tiger’s success could be attributed to an Eid release. However, Dabangg 2 being a non-holiday release achieved the same with little effort and trade pundits are raving at what a good year Salman had.

Dabangg 2 which collected a massive 21.10 crores on the opening day, continued to make 65.16 crores in the first three days. The trend continued as an approximate of 6 crores on day 7 and 5 crores on day 8 was collected. The total is now a whopping 111.78 crores!

An Arbaaz Khan Production’s film, Dabangg 2 also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Vinod Khanna and Prakash Raj.

The film opened in 3,500 screens across the country.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines said: “Dabangg 2″ has opened “exceptionally well at the box office on Friday” and on Saturday “collected around Rs.17 crore and is going housefull on Sunday”.

And yet another Salman Khan movie has broken records. This time, Dabangg2 2 has broken the record of Rowdy Rathore which collected 15 crore on the opening day.

A sequel to Abhinav Kashyap-directed 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, the part two, said to be made at a budget of Rs.50 crore, marks Arbaaz Khan’s directorial debut and repeated the lead pair of Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, while Prakash Raj replaced Sonu Sood as the villain.

Brijesh Tandon said: “In Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, ‘Dabangg 2′ has collected around Rs.3.40 crore on Friday which was quite expected from Salman’s film. We hope the film gets bigger and better tonight.”

While Anand Verma of DT Cinema stated that at their centres it has got a “phenomenal response” despite a slow start on Friday morning and most of the shows have been “housefull”.

Vinay Choksey of VIP Movies feels that Monday will be crucial to the movie as to see how many moviegoers go to watch the film, as Tuesday is Christmas.

He said: “Today (Sunday) the film is going housefull and it should collect around Rs.20 to Rs.23 crore. We are only concerned about the Monday morning collections. We hope there won’t be any dip on Monday.”

Manoj Desai, director of G7 multiplex and Martha Mandir said: “‘Dabangg 2′ was housefull at G7 and Maratha Mandir on Friday and Saturday. Even on Sunday the film is going housefull. Now let’s see how the film does on Monday.”

“I don’t think ‘Dabangg 2′ will break the record of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, but the film will certainly cross Rs.100 crore without any doubt. Besides, Tuesday is a (X-Mas) holiday, so the film will collect enough on Christmas,”
he added.
Sunil Bansal of Yash Raj Jai Pictures Pvt Ltd said that in Rajasthan, “Dabangg 2″ amassed around “Rs.1.25 crore on day one. On Saturday, the film collected around Rs.90 lakh.

Wait! Not only the best but also the worst will be receiving the awards. Yes! The Golden Kela Awards, which recognises the best of the worst in Hindi cinema, is the Indian version of the Golden Raspberry Awards. This year will mark the 5th edition of the awards. The winners are decided by audience vote.

Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan’s much hyped films Dabangg 2 and Jab Tak Hai Jaan will be competing for the worst film trophy.

The other films that will be nominated in the same category include Housefull 2, Son of Sardaar, Khiladi 786 and Joker.

Akshay Kumar comes on top in the worst actor (male) category with his four releases – Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Joker and Khiladi 786.

Ajay Devgn is also a part of this list with two nominations for Son of Sardaar and Bol Bachchan,  Imran Khan for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Sanjay Dutt for his villainous role in Agneepath and Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan for their debut Student Of The Year.

The Bollywood beauties are not to be left behind! Anushka Sharma (JTHJ), Sonakshi Sinha (for everything she did) and Deepika Padukone (Cocktail) have been nominated for for worst actor (female) Golden Kela Award 2012. They also have some competition from newcomers – Farha Khan for Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi, Alia Bhatt for Student Of The Year and Diana Penty for Cocktail.

This year was the year of sequels with 8 sequels being released. Dabangg is visibly the latest entrant into the category.

The 5^th edition of the awards, also features awards categories like ‘Most Irritating Song’, ‘Most atrocious lyrics’, ‘Baawra ho gaya hai ke award‘, ‘Why are you still trying?’ award among many others.
