According to strong reports which suggest that Chitrangada and Jyoti have filed for a divorce by mutual consent at a Mumbai court on Friday.

Chitrangada and Jyoti were seen with a few close relatives and a few police offiials when had appeared in court for the same.

The next date for the hearing was fixed on November 11 and apparently the family court has asked the couple to think about reconciliation which seems pretty much unlikely to happen. The couple also have a son named Zorawar.

“Both Chitrangda and Jyoti had hired lawyers from Delhi. It seems the duo did not want the matter to go public,” a lawyer at the court told a leading website.
There were rumours about the couple’s divorce doing the rounds for a while now and now it’s been confirmed by the reports.

Jyoti Randhawa is  a renowned golf player who was ranked in the top 100 Official Golf Ranking several times between the years 2004 to 2009.

Chitrangada has climbed the ladder of fame not just because of her stunning looks but also for her performances in off-beat aswell as commercial films like Hazaaron Khwaishien Aisi, Desi Boyz and Inkaar.

Begum Samru was the ruler of Sardhana, near Meerut. She began her career as a nautch girl in the 18th century.

Interestingly, Chitrangada too hails from Meerut. She started her career as a model in Delhi and later on moved to Mumbai to become an actress.

Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia is apparently making a movie on the life of Begum Samru and Chitrangada says that “she had a very interesting life”.

“I am from Meerut and near Meerut, she had her haveli. I have seen that in my childhood, my mother took me there. So to be so close to a historical character like that, I think it’s interesting,” Chitrangada said..

“I would love to play a character like this (Begum Samru) and it will be very interesting,” she added.

Chitrangada Singh is known for her roles in films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Yeh Saali Zindagi, Desi Boyz and Inkaar.

As of now, she is busy with another movie for which she is learning Urdu as well as some classical Kathak moves.

“I am doing a workshop right now for my next film. I am preparing for that,” the beautiful actress said.

“I am taking diction classes for Hindi and Urdu. Besides, I am also taking dance classes and learning Kathak,” she added.

When she was asked for more details about her project, she said, “The film has not been announced yet. The producers will announce it when they want to.“
