Vidya appears on the list of most wanted actresses to perform at award functions!

Ever since The Dirty Picture happened, Vidya Balan is in great demand. The latest buzz has it that the organizers of an event are ready to shell out Rs 50 to 75 lakh on Vidya, for her one performance.

Now that the season of award functions has begun, Vidya Balan’ name is in almost all the lists of most wanted actresses to perform at these events.

In 2011, Vidya was nowhere in the lists of any events. According to a source, “While Vidya is a very good actress, she was far from being the glamour girl.

She was not perceived as ‘oomphy’ as Kareena, Katrina, Deepika, Priyanka or even Anushka when it comes to performing on stage.”

Adds the source, “Apart from being approached to perform on the ‘Ooh la la’ and ‘Naaka mukka’ tracks, she’s also being offered a handsome fee, averaging to about Rs 50 lakh per event.”

Confirming the news, Mohammed Morani, one of the top event organisers says “A chartbusting song and a super hit film is what is required of a star for the award functions.”

Vidya’s parents gives a thumbs up for her performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’.

Vidya Balan’s new year started on a very good note. The actress is completely flattered by all the compliments she has received for her film ‘The Dirty Picture’. She was the happiest person when she got a thumbs up from her parents for her awesome performance.

“I am ecstatic with all the compliments that have come my way even though the film’s release was a month ago. What touched my heart most was the acknowledgment coming from my parents,” said Vidya.

“They (parents) said to me that within five minutes of The Dirty Picture, they forgot that the girl on screen was their daughter and instead took home Silk. It was a big relief when my parents said that since right through the film’s making, I was wary of their reactions,” Vidya Balan added.

Though the movie released a month ago, the actress still continues to receive congratulatory messages.
