Anushka Sharma made a dream debut opposite King Khan and has managed to impressed him as her co-star. Shahrukh Khan is mighty impressed with this young girl and this is what he had to say about her -

“Anushka in a certain way has helped me a lot with this film. I had to react to this girl who’s so fresh and different. So as an actor, I would say she has kept me on my toes and I think she has done a wonderful job.

I feel responsible for her career because she is starting off with me. I hope she does a fantastic job. She kept me on my toes, not just by virtue of being fresh and new, by being taller than me also.

I truly from the bottom of my heart pray for her and I hope this film does really good for her and she does some amazing amount of work, so we can feel proud that we started her career on celluloid,” said Shahrukh.

Perhaps that’s what makes SRK love his younger co-stars more!

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is rocking at the box office and Shahrukh Khan’s simple middle class avatar is getting all the rave reviews. And getting into the character of Surinder Sahni was the most memorable time SRK had while shooting for RNBDJ

“The first character is Surinder Sahni and we wanted him to look like a middle class guy, having a fixed routine – perhaps to the extent of being boring. We also wanted to give him a little bit of amusing quality without making him a caricature and to get all that, I think a physical appearance was important. Especially, for the movement of the story, the look was very important. One day, I put a moustache and got some hairpiece done and showed it to Adi and he said, ‘This is the guy he should look like.’ It’s not how weird or funny I look, but the simplicity of the character will permeate through the screen.

I think the most memorable part was the first seven-eight days when I changed my look for Surinder Sahni. When I used to walk on the sets, nobody would recognise me.I got a taste of things that will come 30 years later in my life when I will no longer be a star and nobody will recognise me. I think that is the most memorable moment but I hope it never happens to me ever again because not to be recognised after 20 years of such high recognition is something I wasn’t ready for.”

Shahrukh says he identifies more with Surinder than with Raj and Rahul that he has been playing over the last 15 years.

“I am basically very ordinary in the way I think, in the way I do things. I come from an educated lower middle class background and I have never lost touch with that. Suri is what I really am. And my challenge as an actor is genuinely to make Surinder Sahni the new romantic icon.

I want everybody not to love Raj anymore and say ‘We want to be Suri’. The romantic iconic status crown now shifts from Raj and Rahul to Surinder Sahni because he’s got a good heart.”

Aditya Chopra, who has been famous for keeping his ventures under wraps till the date of release has made an exception for his latest directorial venture Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (starring Shahrukh Khan and newcomer Anushka Sharma).

A source who attended the private screening of the movie revealed, “Adi held a special screening of RNBDJ on Sunday November 23rd evening at his Yash Raj studio preview theatre. It was attended by Shah Rukh Khan who came along with his wife Gauri and kids – Suhana and Aryan, Karan Johar, Yash Chopra and debutante Anushka Sharma. All of them seemed to enjoy the film. It is learnt that Adi was very anxious to know whether his latest venture at turned out well or not. His Yash Raj Films desperately needs after having gone through a string of flops in the past few months.”

The source further adds, “Well Adi was a relieved man once the show was over as RNBDJ has SUPERHIT written all over. It is definately going to YRF’s savior just like last year’s SRK starrer Chak De India was! The movie is a complete family entertainerquite funny and has some really spectacular dance sequences. The highlight number being the one where the King Khan is shown imitating old actors like Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor, etc. The film is a simple sweet love story shot mainly in India. Anushka has made a good debut and she is a good dancer.”

The music of the film is disappointing already, quite unlike the typical SRK starring blockbusters from Yash Raj, perhaps thats why we dont see the film generating much interest in the audiences. Lets see what fate holds for SRK and Yash Raj.

The Malaysian government has decided to confer the title of Datuk to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan on December 6 2008.

Shahrukh is expected to be dressed in traditional Malaysian dress – lack costume with a waistband, a songkok and a black cap which is the official attire to receive the award from the Malaccan royal chief, Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob.

Malaccan authorities, however, say Shah Rukh’s shoot in Malaysia had benefitted the country immensely, giving it global publicity without any money being spent.

It is said that the Malaysian Datukhship is equivalent to what the British confer as Knighthood.

Here you go Shahrukh… A new feather in your already crowded cap!

The media must have reported a cold-war between Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan but nothing of the sort appeared when the two bonded well at the premiere of Drona.

Shahrukh Khan graced the occasion with wife Gauri Khan and kids and greeted the Bachchans for the premiere. The shutterbugs flashed crazy picturing the two giant actors in the industry greeting each other.

Seems like a smart move from SRK to outsmart Salman Khan who was gelling quite well with Abhishek Bachchan after his skirmish with SRK. Now SRK has gone ahead and made friends with the Bachchans, lets see whose side do the Bachchans prefer to be.

Shahrukh Khan is determined to make his Temptations Reloaded 2008 tour bigger than the Bachchan’s Unforgettable World Tour and so he has managed to get in a lot of big names on to his team list.

He has now roped Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu to join his Temptations Reloaded Team with Katrina Kaif, Anusha Dandekar and Arjun Rampal.

Cineyug’s Mohammed Morani (scriptwriter and director of the shows) confirmed and said, “Yes, we have signed Deepika and Bipasha for Temptation Reloaded. But, I haven’t worked out their dance moves yet. And we are in advanced talks with Kareena. She may join us for the shows in Dubai.”

A source said, “SRK has fans all over the world. It’s great that Deepika and Bipasha have joined the tour too. If Kareena comes on board, which is quite possible, it doesn’t get bigger than this.”
I somehow think, there are too many ladies on the board, SRK should have included good male performers who people really enjoy watching… It would’ve been bigger than this if someone like Hrithik joined him.

Aamir Khan has found himself unguarded between Sallu-SRK spat, as the perfectionist actor is on good terms with both the Khans.

Thats the reason Aamir Khan has been avoiding parties and events where SRK is present, so that it doesn’t seem that he is taking a particular Khan’s side.

A source says, “Aamir is playing a wait- and-watch game as both Salman and Shah Rukh are his friends. Aamir feels the fight was a childish thing and he wants them to patch up. He has been bonding openly with Salman and avoiding Shah Rukh at parties. Ritesh Sidhwani’s birthday party was the third one he skipped in the last two weeks. First, he made Rani Mukherji postpone her house-warming bash at her Juhu bungalow from August 9 to 12 as he was shooting for an ad. But he did not attend Rani’s party as he had to attend the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial in Chennai.”

He did not even attend close buddy Ritesh Deshmukh’s birthday bash,  “At Ritesh’s party last week, he came but only to pick up wife Kiran and didn’t even step in to wish Ritesh,” adds the source.

Apparently Aamir is in talks with Salman for the sequel of their old comedy film Andaaz Apna Apna and is trying to struck a deal with Sallu. And that’s the reason why he is more on Sallu’s side these days.

Well Bollywood is a mean place.

Shahrukh Khan’s Temptation is rocking the world and the now the Temptations stop in Asterdam to steal the hearts of many.

The venues for the scintillating show have not been finalised yet, but the dates are out – October 17, 18, 19 and 20 for Europe and October 23 and 24 for Gulf.

And the recent controversy that Katrina Kaif has pulled out of SRK’s temptation because of the ugly fight between Sallu and SRK can be put to rest as Katrina is very much a part of the Temptations team.

The others who will add more glam to the tour with SRK in Europe are Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Anusha Dandekar and Ganesha Hedge, Katrina Kaif and Rani Mukherjee will join them in Gulf.

Ranbir Kapoor’s character RAJ from Bachna Ae Haseeno was originally written by keeping the original Raj- Shah Rukh Khan in mind.

But later Aditya Chopra roped in Ranbir Kapoor for the movie, as SRK got busy with other movies.

Ranbir Kapoor revealed, “Yes, Aditya got the script written for Shah Rukh. When the role was offered to me, I grabbed it; I wanted to be part of something that was so young, so today.”

Do you think SRK would have looked better than Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Farah Khan owes her success to superstar Shahrukh Khan and will cater to his demands and liking even if he demands a change in script or throwing out another actor.

Farah Khan recently faced some problems for his next flick, Happy New Year, as her main hero SRK refused to shoot the film with Amitabh Bachchan – the other hero of the film. The cold war between AB and SRK has been going on for quite awhile now. So Farah Khan who considers SRK as her best buddy rescripted Amitabh Bachchan’s character finally removing him from the movie.

Farah says,  “Yes, I am finally going ahead with Happy New Year. We have made some changes in the earlier script. The truth is, I wanted to make Happy New Year before Om Shanti Om. I plan to have an interesting cast along with Shah Rukh. But, I still haven’t decided how many of the actors will be established and how many will be newcomers.”

Farah will be start shooting for the film at the end of the year.
