Amitabh Bachchan, once again hosts KBC season 5…
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is once again, all set to host the popular and hit reality game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. This is the fifth season.
“Preparing now for KBC next season starting I think in a few months… creative and promo discussions today … very interesting,” Bachchan said on micro-blogging site Twitter yesterday.
The superstar made his first appearence on Indian Television with the first season of KBC aired in the year 2000. KBC is a replica of a UK game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’
Buzz had it that , last year, when Sr Bachchan was approched by the makers of KBC, for the fifth season, he had asked for the opinion of his fans.
Big B hosted three out of four seasons of KBC. the third season was hosted by Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan.

Priyanka Chopra steals the crown from Aishwarya
Ash is getting married, so whom do u think fit the slot? Well one show has decided who is going to fit the slot. Kaun Banega Crorepati contestants have marked Priyanka Chopra as their favorite. In the last season it was Aishwarya Rai who was the hot favorite in KBC. So the crown has shifted heads. Priyanka’s all excited about the development with some tongue-in-cheek humor.
“I’m aware of this. It’s very sweet. In fact, when I shot for KBC this was mentioned to me. I’m told men on KBC want to take me anywhere from a restaurant to the moon. Seriously speaking, I like being popular. That’s what we work towards. I’ve been here for three or four years. I’ve a long way to go still. Considering I don’t have a godfather in the industry, and I’m just an ordinary girl from Bihar in Bollywood, I feel doubly gratified when people appreciate me. I hope I don’t get married next year” says the Perfect Priyanka.
Shah Rukh Khan winds up KBC
Shah Rukh Khan is all set to wind up this season of KBC and he doesn’t want anyone to go without winning something. So the way out is to gift all the contestants with a Hundai Santro car. Yes, you have heard this strategy earlier and even Shah Rukh remembers it- The Oprah Winfrey Act! But whatever be the strategy, no contestant from the nine players will go empty-handed on the last day of the season which will be on the 28th of March. Also Shahrukh’s cordial gesture with the participants behind the scenes has ended in his secretary settling business partnership offers with the contestants. And SRK is seriously pondering upon some of the offers. I tell you that he is a sweetheart!
Munnabhai and Co. with Shahrukh Khan in KBC
SRK’s is ready for surprise his audience at KBC with yet another spectacular show with none other than Munnabhai and Co. Yes! Our very own Munnabhai- Sanjay Dutt and his arch-rival in the movie Boman Irani have shot their KBC celebrity special show with SRK and rumors say that the duo has won quite a lot! And the money is supposed to be given to a drug rehab for children.
Sure the money will go for a good cause and the audience will too have a gala time with the three spectacular people on the set of KBC. Lage Raho bidulog!!!
KBC colorful with Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee
It is going to be a whole lot of color, fun and surprise for the show this Thursday. And celebrity guests are none other than Peppy Preity Zinta and Ravishing Rani Mukherjee. Though both are not very comfortable with each other, SRK makes sure they share a strong rapport on the show. Check out the few attractions of this episode:

Shahrukh Khan tells more about how he got KBC
The whole tell tale of rift between SRK and Big B created by media has no proper basis and SRK’s recent quotes telling how STAR had approached him earlier also, clears this more. “Two years ago Star offered me KBC 2 and I asked them if Mr. Bachchan wanted to do it. And they said yes, so I backed off. Recently too when they offered me KBC 3, I said I will only do it if Mr. Bachchan says no. After they had said that he had declined to do it, I asked to see a letter from him confirming this. Only after that did I agree to do it” said the King Khan.
This is not the first time SRK is being concerned enough to take permission from the people whose projects were offered to SRK. When he replaced Aamir Khan for Darr and Salman Khan for Josh, he called them up first to see if it is okay to go ahead with the project and that there are no problems from their side. SRK feels that when someone else was slated to do a particular role and you step into their shoes for whatever reasons, it is mere courtesy to ask the person whom you have replaced if it is not a problem. Sincerity and respectability is the word for such actions.
Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan Row: Media created one
The more both the superstars are trying to hush it down and keep it low profile, the more media drags the friction between Big B and SRK into public attention. So much so that it looks completely a media created rift between the stars.
Recently media quoted Shahrukh Khan saying “I am sexy, smart and young. That was his century; this is mine,” and posed it with some mirch masala to pep up the statement. Later Big B was quoted retorting “Let’s see what happens to him (SRK) after 35 years”. If I remember right, SRK had given the statement in Hindi (translating does not always retain the same meaning) and the second line was not at all joined to the first one. It was a response to the video that he shot for KBC. Paparazzo is not a healthy way for media!
KBC is Shahrukh’s family affair
‘Great Friends’ that’s what SRK and Karan Johar are. Now that both have their piece of cake on the small screen, exchange is definitely supposed to take place.
And it is quite expected that when Shahrukh plays a guest in ‘Koffee with Karan’, Karan johar will oblige SRK by playing a contestant in KBC 3. This and more as Farah Khan will occupy the hot seat beside Johar to make the evening a friend’s get together. So stay tuned to KBC on the 11th of February for the get together. With SRK in the Anchor’s seat the list of celebrity guests in quite predictable: Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Arbaz Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and so on…
SRK on his show and the wax figure
SRK is now up to another venture…He will reveal his Wax figure in Madame Tussauds museum in London. Happy with how his latest television show KBC has turned out to be the star says, “The best compliment I received is that I am doing KBC my way. My friends from the film industry, Arjun, Preity and Priyanka called me up to congratulate me. It is a challenge to do a new episode every day. But I love every minute of it. I am here to see that at the end of the day, even if contestants lose the game, I bring a smile to their face”.
Strongly denying the constant comparisons with Big B, SRK says he has his own body language that no one can imitate so there is no question of comparison. Right now SRK is getting ready to take his kids to the never before visited Madame Tussauds museum.
Spoof on KBC
With rumors and opinion doing rounds about who is the best- SRK or Big B, television channels have decided to cash in on the debate. Sahara One has intentionally launched a spoof called ‘Kaun Banega Champu’ to take a toll on SRK’s ‘KBC 3’.
Ruk Ruk Khan (Sunil Grover) engages Suresh Menon toplay the game. The episode will release from February 11. Hmm… Sahara- Bachchan loyalty is said to be the reason for this spoof but frankly I don’t it limits to that. Well who wouldn’t want to cash in on the popularity that comes on other’s publicity stunts?
Shahrukh overwhelms
Shahrukh is unpredictable and he has got some sure shot 
ways to overwhelm people with his warmth and this time he went a little too far and did an Oprah Winfrey act. Dr. Guggilla, or Gugs as Shahrukh calls him fondly, the second contestant who had to leave the hot seat got a pleasant but a real costly surprise when Shahrukh took off his wrist watch and gave it to him with a tight warm hug. And mind you the watch is no small brand…which is obvious when SRK wears it! Gugs was completely taken aback but in a pleasant manner to know the person behind the star. So moved was the doctor by the star’s gesture that he has decided to gift the actor a gold watch that his wife had given to him as a wedding present. Hmm…has KBC become an exchange ‘mela’? I guess SRK has done his homework well…go on King!
