John Abraham leaves for Oscars with…
The D Day for Water at the Oscars is just three days away and John flew to U.S to walk the red carpet on the night of the 25th of February with his mom. WAIT…did I say ‘with his mom’? Well apparently it is true that the actor has preferred to take his mom to the gala night than his long time girl friend Bipasa Basu who is otherwise always seen holding his arm. Of course there is nothing wrong with taking one’s mother, in fact it is appreciative. But to totally brushing of the importance of Bipasa puts his rapport with the Dhoom girl under question. Not that I have been made to think like that by the media but his comment forces one to draw such conclusions. Take a look:
“I am going to the Oscars with Mom to make my luck stronger with her blessings. Bipasha is busy with her work, and why do you want her to come with me?”
Why? well you yourself preferred holding hands and appearing for every function together, isn’t it? So what’s wrong John?
Has Oscars gotten into his head? Anyway, we wish him good luck for ‘Water’ at the Oscars.
John Abraham and Nagesh Kuknoor come together
Nagesh Kuknoor sure has many films lined up to finish this year. Though his collaboration with Subhash is yet not out, another of his movie “Aashayein” has been declared. The movie will be Percept Pictures’ latest venture and none other than Kuknoor will direct the movie. And Kuknoor has chosen John Abrham for his film. And why not, well John is already an international star with Water making it to the Oscars. But John’s opposite lead lady is still to be finalized. Never mind, for now John and Nagesh Kuknoor coming together is great news.

79th Annual Academy Awards are on the 25th of February and John Abraham is all set to sizzle at the Oscars in traditional attire. “Knowing me, I really can’t see beyond tees and denims. However, I’m going to settle for a black achkan for the Oscar night. As for the other events like the Governor’s Ball and Vanity Fair Party, I’m going to wear something traditional again. And of course, all my clothes have to be classic black” says the hot bollywood actor John Abraham whose film ‘Water’ is expecting to take home the most coveted award for the best foreign film this year.
Designers Narendra Kumar Ahmed, Rocky S and Shahab Durazi are going to tailor his outfits. Two Hollywood actors John wants to get aquainted with are Sylvester Stallone and Jean Claude Van Damme.
John Abraham gets a mega deal from Adlabs
Adlabs is sure roping in the hot and the favorite from Bollywood! Do you remember the news on how Hrithik had signed a Rs 35 crore deal with Adlabs. Well that is not the end. Adlabs has now approached John Abraham for a three-movie contract worth Rs 22 crore. Though the contract has been finalized the dotted lines have not been signed officially by the hot favorite.
Adlab sources say,
“Adlabs had shortlisted a series of actors for this deal and John has emerged to be their unanimous choice. John’s choices of movies and his understanding of cinema makes him an easy choice for such an offer. He’s matured into a fine actor and his movie portfolio is remarkably impressive”.
So all you fans out there keep your eyes and ears on high alert for the announcement and then the celebrations!
John Abraham’s weak point
Did you ever realize that Bollywood’s heartthrob John ever had a week point while being in Bollywood for all these years? Well even if you don’t agree with me it is a fact! John had a feeble command on Hindi and was therefore dubbed by professional artists. “I admit it was one of the areas that I needed to work doubly hard on. I’ve been consistently working on it. But Baabul truly made me confident of the way I speak my dialogues. First of all, the words were all in pure Hindi. Achala Nagar’s dialogues were a bit complex for all of us, except of course Mr Bachchan,” said John. “I had two options open in front of me. Either I asked the words to be simplified. Or I worked on the language. I opted for the latter. And believe me, if the impact of a role can be gauged by the spoken word, then Baabul is the most influential film of my life. It has changed my thought process. Now I’m actually able to think in Hindi,” he said. And the end result is that producers are actually willing to let John speak for his own voice on the silver screen after ‘Baabul’.
John Abraham says no to marriage
Marriage is the hot topic in Bollywood now. After the most eligible bride and groom having decided to tie the knot eyes are on the hottest couple of Bollywood. Even when the golden couple Abhishek and Aishwarya got engaged, John and Bipasha still say marriage is not on their cards. The dashing John Abraham has no plans yet to marry longtime girlfriend, Bipasha Basu. John said in a leading daily. “Marriage is not on the cards for me,” said the model-turned actor. “I am going to be the last guy standing,” John added. John, 33, has been dating Bipasha, 27, for several years. Well whether they get married soon or no they’ve never tried to act ‘no affair’ sort of attitude before people. They have always been open (in fact sometimes too open) about their relationship.
Kabul Express banned in Afghanistan
The much talked about movie in India filmed in Kabul, has been termed offensive towards one of the ethnicities, namely the Hazara. The movie has been banned in Afghanistan. Hazara people are believed to make up about 10 per cent of the Afghan population. A Shi’ite Muslim minority, Hazaras are thought to be descended from remnants of Genghis Khan’s invading army and have at times faced persecution.
Kabul Express charts a 48-hour journey by three journalists in post-Taliban Afghanistan. It opened to mixed reviews in India last month. The movie was inspired by director Kabir Khan’s numerous trips to the country after the Taliban regime was toppled in 2001. The producers of the film have apologized for the mistake and expect a positive approach from the Afghanistan government who were very helpful during the shoot.
John Abraham on Bigg Boss
Bigg Boss is getting more and more popular! First time to
their relief the inmates of Bigg Boss house got some entertainment from outside. Of course the inmates are entertainment for each other too, but someone entered the house to entertain the entertainers. And this someone was none other than John Abraham. The housemates turned the house into sher-e-Bigg Boss – a restaurant where they cooked kababs for John Abraham. The short appearance on Bigg Boss was a part of the promotion for John’s forthcoming film Kabul Express. Though the contestants are not supposed to be entertained in their stint at Bigg Boss’s house, they will however see Kabul Express this one time. The atmosphere was definitely different with Rakhi Sawant around. The inmates surely gave a hearty welcome to the drama queen! In spite of the pay hike that Rakhi asked for, Sony had to take her because of popular demand. Looks like she is going to win the show…
Kabul Express – Movie Preview.
Oki guys… when you see Arshad Warsi on screen, all you can think of is some mind blowing, innovative and HILLARIUS comedy! And the expectations from ‘Kabul Express’ were no different after seeing the promos and the sneak peeks… but what it has turned out to be is totally different!!!
I had experienced something similar with ‘Taxi No. 9211’ where a lot of psychology and absorbing of the souls was involved… the whole movie had knit such a chord of emotion around itself and the whole cast that it was for the first time that I could see honest expressions on Johan Abraham’s stone face!!!
What happens in ‘Kabul Express’ is quite predictable… two Indian Journalists Suhel Khan & Jai Kapoor (John Abraham and Arshad Warsi ironically playing the Hindu n Muslim characters respectively) are out on a ‘Do or Die’ trip to Afghanistan and their sole aim of the trip is to film a tête-à-tête with a Talibani post the American attack on the country…
Its no child’s play to get to one of the most dangerous and ferocious terrorist organizations, which is down but NOT out, and tape an interview with them for a channel other than ‘Al-Jazeera’ (whatever!)… And the first and foremost requirement is transport with a translator… and then comes in Khyber (Hanif Hum Ghum) with his Kabul Express (His Toyota jeep!)
Khyber is a man who’s witnessed Kabul and the rest of Afghanistan go from bad to worse… from heights of fame to depths of shame! He just agrees to help them because he’ll have someone to talk to and narrate the greatness of his motherland and the ruthless intruders who ripped her off – layer by layer (and for some money of course)!
What follows is a series of hilarious and edge of the seat sequences, which include them being blind-folded and carried in tanks, them taking funny, but dangerous interviews of those khoonkhaar people… and almost getting killed in a bushkaashi match*…
Another journo wanting an insight of the real Afghanistan and Taliban is Jessica Beckham (Linda Arsenio – excellent!), An American photojournalist ready to risk her life to photograph the Taliban… The phirang babe joins the hot pursuit with this bunch of crazy guys only to be joined by another crazy freak!!!
Imran Khan Afridi (Salman Shahid) a Pakistani army soldier who was part of the Taliban, but now wants to return to his motherland… he knows that those two are journos and will not be questioned or pushed around much by the Afghani people… they HATE Talibanis!
Then starts a crazy ride across one of the most beautiful (turned into a wreck) and most dangerous countries in the world… its two Indians, one American, one Afghan and one Talibanis – 5 freaks from totally diverse places, beliefs, cultures, makes and aims in life – uniting together as a team! With the sole motive being SURVIVAL and ESCAPE!
But during those two days, they do go through a lot… hearts rule over minds and the impossible happens – they actually grow fond of each other! Jai, Suhel, Jessica n KHYBER (wrote that in caps coz he was a total anti–Talibani… someone who could tear apart Talibanis with his bare hands!) actually help Imran reach his motherland – Pakistan… the land he was so proud of! But as luck would have it, their tale is not over yet (wasn’t that predictable now???)… What unfolds is a series of dirty political moves and maneuvers…
But all of them go through it together… without caring a damn as to where are they from or for that matter, who they are! The chord is formed and they end up doing the unthinkable…
The rest is left for you to imagine people… the whole set-up is amicably supported by an amazing background score and close to natural performances!
John Abraham has sure been given a lot of scope to grow as an actor… hope he lives up to it well! The music of the movie is very unique and has a soul in itself… I just hope the songs have been strategically placed and help the movie move forward…
