Priyanka Chopra’s favorite avatar!

Give any role to Priyanka Chopra, and she will carry it with grace, attitude and elan. Yes! Priyanka Chopra is one super beautiful and talented actress who can carry off any role with ease. While the audiences love both her avatars, which one does Priyanka prefer?

Well, for PC, it is the baddie avatar that she loves the most. The actress also won the ‘best actress in a negative role’, for ’7 Khoon Maaf’ at a recent screen award function. Basically, the actress says that she loves being bad.

Priyanka Chopra will soon be seen as ‘Kali’ in her upcoming film, Agneepath, where she essays a very small role. But the fact that she is essaying a small role, does not disturb the actress.

For PC, it is not the length of the role that matters but the weight of the role.

Catch Priyanka as ‘Kali’ in her soon-to-be-released flick, Agneepath, which is slated to release on 26th January.

Review: Thank You……. It should have been ‘Sorry’ instead…

By Neharika.

Directed by: Anees Bazmee
Produced by: Ronnie Screwvala, Twinkle Khanna
Starring: Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty, Irfan Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Rimi Sen.
Music by: Pritam Chakraborty
Cinematography: Ravi Yadav
Editing by: Steven H. Bernard
Distributed by: UTV Motion Pictures, Hari Om Productions.

Grade: C: Ek Baar Chalta Hai/ Bakwaas :D ;)

‘Men are Dogs’ and ‘Women are Dodos’…

Looks like, director Annes Bazmee has a fondness for expressive words like WELCOME, NO PROBLEM and now THANK YOU. And ya! comedy and Akshay Kumar undoubtedly goes hand-in-hand.

After SINGH IS KINNG, Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee have once again paired up after almost 3 years, now in Thank You. A multi starer rom-com heavily inspired by Bazmee’s earlier comic flick, No Entry.

Thank You is about three married men trying to have some fun outside their marriage.
Raj (Bobby Deol), Vikram (Irrfan Khan) and Yogi (Suniel Shetty) are three friends who are married to Sanjana (Sonam Kapoor), Karthika (Rimi Sen) and Radha (Celina Jaitley).

Raj (Bobby Deol) and Sanjana (Sonam Kapoor) are a happily married couple. But soon, she suspects her husband flirting behind her back, Maya (Celina Jaitly), wife of Yogi (Sunil Shetty) catches him red handed with another girl, and Vikram (Irrfan Khan), who is also unfaithful to his wife, keeps Shivani (Rimi Sen) so petrified that she never dared to question him.
In short, the trio philandering husbands tries to spice up their humdrum lives by embarking on extramarital affairs. They never think twice before cheating on their wives.

Enters Kishan (Akshay Kumar), a private detective or you can say a modern day love doctor who spies on the three promiscuous husbands and promises to teach them a lesson that they’ll remember lifelong.
As usual, there is a lot of confusion that follows. That’s not it… There is a very tacky flashback story of Akshay Kumar too.

The highlights of the flick are the scenes between Vikram and Shivani and Yogi’s frustration, which tickle your funny bones to the core. The first half of the film is disappointing, leaving you to look for the rare laughs, while the second half saved the entire script. It has you grinning at certain goof-ups. Again, the film’s climax was a BIG bore.

Akshay Kumar’s carefree acting did create a lot of laughter. He delivered a fine performance. Sunil Shetty kicked up a bit of fun, and must confess, his acting came as a pleasant surprise to me. Bobby Deol’s role hardly had any humor in it as he is seen angry with his wife in almost the entire film. But his acting was decent enough. Irrfan Khan is mind-blowing. It was a delight watching him. Every single scene that he was in, brought a riot of laughter among the audience.
Sonam Kapoor was again just a glamor doll in the flick. She could not emote genuinely in a single scene. Her performance was below average. Rimi Sen did a fabulous job. Her comic timing was simply wonderful along with Irrfan Khan. Celina Jaitly is hardly seen in the drama. She disappears from the large part of the film. Mallika Sherawat item no Razia, failed to impress the audience.

There was no freshness in the plot of the film. Anees Bazmee’s direction is praiseworthy. He did try to keep the audience involved and amused for a larger part of the flick. Pritam’s music is not inspiring at all. Unlike his previous creations, this one was disappointing. Editing by Steven H. Bernard is crisp, Yadav’s cinematography is first class.

A final word, Thank You is a one time watch. Head to the theater without any expectations. This is a flick for the mass and not the class.

A: Wah! Kya Film Hai :) :) , B: Paisa Vasool :, C: Ek Baar Chalta Hai/ Bakwaas :D ;) , D: Poora time Waste :( :(

Irrfan Khan misses Shahrukh Khan

srk1.jpg

There are some people in industry who wouldn’t want to even see the face of SRK but there is still someone who loves SRK and misses him. It’s none other than great actor Irrfan Khan.

Irrfan Khan is working with SRK in upcoming flick Billo Barber and developed a strong bond with him.

He says, “Shah Rukh is as entertaining off camera as he’s on screen. We all bonded big time while shooting in Pollachi. After he left a spark had gone out of the unit. Seldom have I missed a co-star. Shah Rukh, I’m missing you.”

SRK are you hearing?

Krazzy 4 movie review

Poster-1.jpg

Krazzy 4

Director: Jaideep Sen
Cast: Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Suresh Menon, Juhi Chawla and Dia Mirza

Debutante director Jaideep Sen must have foreseen the future of his movie Krazzy 4 and that’s why roped in SRK and Hrithik Roshan to become the saving grace of the movie. But inspite of SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Rakhi Sawant, Ram Sampath (for giving negative publicity for 2 crores), a great star cast and numerology the film turns out to be a dud.

Krazzy 4 is the story about four mental guys Raja (Arshad Warsi), Gangadhar (Rajpal Yadav), Dr Mukherjee (Irrfan Khan), Dabboo (Suresh Menon) and their doc Dr Sonali. Raja is an angry mental man and will hit out at the slightest provocation or even without and has an intermittent explosive disorder in simple words ‘Sarphira’. Dr Mukherjee aka captain of Krazzy4, is a clean freak, wants everything to be perfect and clean and suffers from a personality disorder.

Gangadhar is a schizophrenic who lives in the past and his pals are Nehru, Gandhi, Tilak and Patel. He and his imaginary pals are busy fighting for swaraj and freedom. Last but not the least is cute Dabboo who with his 3/4th pants is everybody’s pet and is frightened to an extent that he doesn’t speak a word.

All hell breaks loose when their savior Dr Sonali takes them out for a cricket match just for a change, Dr Sonali is kidnapped and our Krazzy 4 are left stranded in the big, bad and mad krazzy world. How they survive and rescue their doctor forms the rest of the story.

When Jaideep Sen had power performers like Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Suresh Menon and Arshad Warsi he failed to utilize their potential. Suresh Menon who is a terrific performer is kept on mute all the time. Arshad Warsi inspite of having a meaty role fails to deliver as an angry man. The only actor who is the saving grace of K4 is Rajpal Yadav with a rocking performance; perfect comic timing makes him standout amongst others. Juhi Chawla and Irrfan Khan as Mr. tidy.

The craziest thing about the movie is its bad story inspired from Hollywood flick “The Dream Team”, wonder how Senior Roshan approved of it. The script has some unrealistic scenes which makes you go What The F like Raja bumping into his ex-girlfriend Dia Mirza, Dr Mukherjee meeting his daughter on the road, the krazzy guys carrying a successful sting operation and the climax.

The film is 2 hours long and is interesting in the first half, and a bore in the second eventually ending in a bad climax. Both script and screenplay of K4 are bad.

Coming to the highlight of Krazzy 4-The item numbers, I personally liked SRK’s Breakfree more than Hrithiks, but both are great. Rakhi’s item number would appeal to the frontbenchers and will keep them happy. Rajesh Roshan’s music is disappointing but Break Free is awesome (Credit should be given to Rajesh Roshan for composing rest of the song apart from the 6 lifted seconds).

I hope Jaideep Sen comes out with a good movie next time with a powerful story. Meanwhile the audiences wouldn’t be crazy for Krazzy 4.

My Rating: ** 1/2

Both the superstars are shooting for the same audio track with sligh variation in the lyrics, instead of shooting for two separate songs.SRK’s item number in the movie will be an integral part of the story, and Hrithik stars in the promotional video where he introduces the four comedy men to the audience.

The music of the movie is composed by the ever melodious Rajesh Roshan.
