LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI – A Preview

mbmbbs1.jpgOne of the most-awaited films of the year- the sequel to MunnaBhai MBBS is ready for release. It includes the original cast- Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani joined by Dia Mirza and Vidya Balan (of Parineeta fame). It is directed by Raju Hirani, and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Much hype was created while deciding the name of the film. Initially titled ‘MUNNABHAI MEETS MAHATMA GANDHI’, and later ‘MUNNA BHAI 2ND INNINGS’, Vidhu conducted a poll for selecting the film’s name, where an astounding 83% voted for ‘LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI’, as it had an extra zing to the name !

The film promises to be a heart-warming, rib-tickling laugh riot. Sanju plays the typical philosophical ‘Bhai’, Warsi is the hilarious and loyal ‘Circuit’, and Vidhya Balan plays ‘Jhanvi’. Boman Irani (Lucky Singh) is once again Munnabhai’s adversary and he plays a rich builder. The battle between Lucky Singh and his rival Munna continues again as Lucky pits himself unsuccessfully against Munna.

The twist in the tale comes when Munnabhai comes face to face with Mahatma Gandhi (played by Dilip Prabhawalkar) and both stick to their respective principles even while they are compelled to work together for the same goal. This is gonna be the best part of the movie, we bet !!!

Right from the word go, ‘LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI’ is a laugh-a-minute roller coaster, and the audience wii be taken in by surprise when they find tears springing unexpectedly in their eyes or when the film makes them pause and think. The film releases worldwide in theaters on September 1.

Karan Johar ready with his risky flick …

KaranJohar12.gifKaran Johar is surely not unknown to those familiar with Bollywood. After churning out three back to back blockbusters in the past few years the 34 year old director is back again with his latest production – Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. After rocking the Toronto film fest, the saga of “Love that broke all relationships” is set to hit the cinema halls by 11th August.
Johar Jr. admits that all his past films have been on a risk free plot unlike KANK. The generally cautious man has philandered over $10 million on this new venture, which deals with broken relationships and not a united family or candy floss romance. Hope the Hindi film audiences accept this film, especially when the super hero season is on a full boom! So all eyes set for the d day now….
