There were days when Emraan Hashmi did only dark films, loads of love making and that too mainly for Mahesh Bhatt’s films.

But not anymore. If buzz is to be believed, Emraan will be seen in Karan Johar next production to be directed by Rensil D’Silva.

A source close to the production house says, “After Kurbaan, Rensil was supposed to make a film with Salman Khan in the lead role. However, with Salman’s 2012 calendar choc-a-bloc with the many projects he is currently filming, the filmmaker has decided to make another film in the meantime. The ensemble cast for this new project will have Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. The rest of the cast is still being finalised.”

Adds the source, “Having delivered a string of hits, it is clear that Emraan has a massive fan following. The producers realise that Emraan is a big star in the industry today. And thus, Karan Johar and Rensil D’Silva have decided to work with him in their next project.”

There hasn’t been any formal announcemen and as of now everything else about the film is kept under wraps.

The song Ishq Sufiana has Emraan Hashmi romancing the Vidya Balan. The duo share an awesome chemistry on screen. However, it is heard that the serial kisser will not be smooching Vidya in the promotional ads and campaign. Reason: The kisses would make the entire film look like a typical Emraan Hashmi flick,to public.

Though, in the song Ishq Sufiana, both Vidya and Emraan are seen getting super cosy and stuff, you wouldn’t find them kissing each other in the song.

Vidya Balan plays the role of this sex-siren who ruled the roost in Indian film industry for many years and had many controversies to her credit. Undoubtedly, the actress looks absolutely delicious in the poster. Hat’s off to Vidya, she has managed to pull of a Silk Smitha, very very well.

In the first look, Nasseruddin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor are seen wooing Vidya Balan, while Emraan Khan looks all serious.

The Dirty Picture’ is slated for a December 2 release as it marks Silk Smitha’s birthday.

Since ‘Dirty Picture’ is the first film, the two would be seen together, the director is doing all that he can to wipe away the awkwardness between the two and make them as comfortable as possible. He is first warping up with the ‘easier’ scenes and then film the high-voltage ones.

“Their chemistry needs to be very natural. So Milan decided to schedule the ‘sexy’ portions for later,” says a source.

“In the romantic song that will be shot at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad, they will be required to lock lips to bring out the love and intimacy their characters share,” reveals a source,

The film sees Emraan play filmmaker, who gets attracted to Vidya Balan. Vidya plays the character based on South sex siren, Silk Smitha.

“She has never played such a character before. So she’s working hard to make sure that not the slightest awkwardness comes across on screen,” says a source associated with the film.

However, Vidya and Emraan are pretty comfortable with each other on the sets.

The sequel has several intimate and dare-bare scenes that the stars have pulled off easily.

Says director Mohit Suri, “Emraan and Jacqueline got along very well, too,”

According to a source, Informer will have Prachi’s sex quotient notch higher than before. The source also adds that a lot is going into making a sexy seductress our of her. She will apparently, go through an immense image makeover.

“The seeds of her transformation were planted in OUATIM, where she moved out of her comfort zone and did love-making sequences with Emraan.

Now, with him as her co-star again, she will completely discard her sedate coy desi miss-won’t-kiss image and emerge as the new femme-fatale in tinsel town.”

However, the Bhatts and the film’s co-producers Fox Star, are tight lipped about the project until the formal announcement.

Emraan Hashmi doesn’t seem to have much faith left in the Bollywood award shows held recently.

If you look at the list of the winners at the award shows held recently, you can’t help noticing one superstar bagging the Best Actor trophy while another given the Best Actor by Popular Choice award. Emraan Hashmi, who was also nominated for these awards for his performance in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, says these award shows are merely self congratulatory exercise for many Bollywood folks.

“If you see any award ceremony, they are pleasing everyone. There are three categories for every actor… it’s ridiculous… and three awards given to music. I really don’t want to be part of the circus. The whole industry goes and claps for it but I don’t want to be part of it,” Emraan is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Aamir Khan is already known for his disdain for these popular award shows. He boycotts them without exception. Now, Emraan seems to be headed the same way.

“These award ceremonies really don’t make a difference to me. I have got my acclaim and awards from the audience… I don’t really see that (award functions) as something I ever really believed it. I generally don’t approve of these nominations,” Emraan is quoted as saying.

Emraan will be seen later this month in director Madhur Bhandarkar’s comedy film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.

“It’s a professional decision and if I like any role, I will definitely accept it. I have neither forced my directors to include kissing sequences for me in the past nor will I force them to do away with lip-locking scenes”,

is what he says. On being asked if his wife Parveen has given him the permission he stated,

“My wife has never objected to my romantic scenes. It’s up to me to balance my personal and professional commitments.”

Looks like, the serial kisser enjoys his image more than any one else.
