Kareena Kapoor bags another challenging role!
Kareena Kapoor is on a roll. The actress is currently shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine, where she has a super challenging role to essay and now the latest we hear is that Bebo has bagged another challenging role of queen Arundhati in the Hindi remake of 2009 Telugu blockbuster Arundhati.
Arundhati is a women-centric film with breath taking graphics and technology. The film is set in the ancient times. It was the biggest blockbuster, in the Telugu film industry.
Sonu Sood will play the villain in the Hindi version. He was a devil in the Telugu version as well. The Hindi remake rights of the film has been acquired by Gemini Film Circuit.
Speaking about the role, Kareena Kapoor says, “I am excited to do this that had importance for the female character.”/em>
The film is an action thriller. It starred Anushka Shetty in its original.
Happy wedding anniversary, Abhi-Ash!
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan celebrate their rock solid five years wedding anniversary today.
It’s only love, love and LOVE between Ash and Abhi, that has taken them so far. This wedding anniversary is even more special as the couple celebrate their day with their lovely daughter Aaradhya.
Just a quick recap, Abhishek Bachchan proposed to Aishwarya Rai on 12 January 2007, in Toronto, after the premiere of Guru. The couple got engaged on 14th Jan and April 20, 2007, the “made for each other” love birds entered marital bliss.

Anurag Basu’s woes continue over Barfi!!
Anurag Basu’s Barfi, delayed yet again. First, Ranbir sited date issues and now, its the film’s lead lady, Priyanka Chopra who is unable to give dates for the film.
The film’s release has been delayed twice already and now, once again, it may be delayed further – reason being Priyanka Chopra.
Says a source close to the film, “Only Priyanka’s portion remains to be shot, the film is complete. The producers have already postponed the release from July 13 to August 31 to give Peecee to devote a couple of days. But she’s already started on Zanjeer.”
If buzz is to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor, frustrated with the delay time and again, has personally asked Priyanka to block two days in her calendar, for Barfi.
Basu on the other hand supporting Priyanka says, “Our schedules went haywire and all the actors had to re-adjust their dates. Priyanka tried her best to accommodate us. I’m sure she will manage to give us the two crucial days.”
Meanwhile, the dubbing of Basu’s other leading lady Ileana’s is being worked upon.
Says he, “Ranbir has no dubbing to do since he plays a deaf and mute character. I’m happy to say Ileana’s Hindi has improved and she can confidently dub her own lines. Not bad for a girl who couldn’t speak the language when she started.”
Amitabh Bachchan turns nasty in ‘Department’
From quite sometime, there has been comparison between Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Department and the one in Sarkar. However, fedup with such comparisons, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma finally breaks his silence.
The filmmaker insists that, besides Big B’s ruffled, grey-haired look, there is no other similarity. It’s only his look that gives the audience a feeling of deja vu.
Tweets RGV, “(Except) For the hair similarity of Amitji in ‘Department’ and ‘Sarkar’, of course there’s absolutely no similarity between the two characters.”
The director also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the film ‘Department’, is that of a nasty man.
“For want of a better word, I think Amitji is playing a nasty sarkar in `Department’,” he further posted.
Katrina Kaif in her fairy tale world!
Katrina Kaif is the ambassador of chocolate brand Choc On. The actress will don three different looks in the ad campaign – fairytale girl, Cinderella and Red Riding Hood.
Like most girls, Katrina too loves to gorge on chocolates. “Everyone loves chocolate and I am no exception. I am happy to endorse a chocolate brand,” Katrina said in a press statement.
The commercial is a combination of reality and fantasy world, where Kats goes into her fairytale land, bringing ‘Choc On’ chocolate and giving it to another angelic character.
Ricky Singh has produced the campaign under his banner Passion Films.
“The idea is to engulf the viewer into the ultimate temptation for chocolate. With Katrina as the brand ambassador, the thought is to showcase the magic of Choc On to make dreams meet reality,” he said.
It is heard that the multimedia campaign is estimated to be worth Rs.20 crore.

Salman Khan is riding high on product endorsements. All thanks to the three blockbusters he gave and all the charity work he has been doing.
Few years ago, Sallu was one of the most non desired actors in the endorsement world, reason being is bratty image. But now, he is the most desired one.
The latest we hear is that Salman Khan is being wooed for a Suzuki Motorcycle India, ad. He will be the face of Suzuki’s above-the-line and below-the-line initiatives.
Salman Khan also endorses a soft drink, a detergent, and an inner wear brand. He is the brand ambassador for History channel. His lastest commercials for Yatra.com is already out and now the Suzuki ad too, will also be out soon.
Deepika-Ranbir will not get cosy!
Director Ayan Mukerji is planning to avoid any kind of intimate scenes between the former lovers, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, in his upcoming flick, though the film is a romantic one.
According to a source close to the film, “Considering the kind of close friendship Ayan shares with Ranbir, he’s aware of the relationship the actor shared with Deepika. At the same time, he was also well aware of their split when he offered his film to her. His story has a few intimate scenes between the lead pair.”
Initially, both Deepy and Rabir were quite okay doing the intimate scenes. “Keeping in mind that they’re thorough professionals, it would be natural to expect them to play their parts as actors.
However, that time the shooting had not started. Now that filming is underway, Ayan is having a change of mind,” says a source. The source later said that the director later didn’t want to retain the scene.
Though the ex lovers are now good friends, the comfort level between them is not the same.
Says the source, “Though they’re like friends, doing intimate scenes for the camera is a different thing altogether.
So if Ayan senses any awkwardness on part of either of them, especially Deepika, in the intimate scenes, then he’d rather do away with them. If that comfort level is not there to be seen on camera, then that could affect the overall chemistry they share in the film.”
