Malaika Arora is Shahrukh Khan’s and Farah Khan’s favorite and will always remain so. Recently Malaika did an out of the box role for Farah’s next flick Om Shanti Om absolutely for free. “Shah Rukh approached me for the role in Om Shanti Om. He said it’s sweet and funny and something I haven’t done before. She’s a superhero kind of a character, clad in a red gown and flying off rooftops, something like Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit but with a twist” says Malaika. But the best thing is that SRK and Farah sure know how to repay friends for their good deeds. Malaika was pleasantly surprised to get a hamper from the Red Chillies unit – cards from the crew, flowers, a Tag Heuer watch and cell phone. SRK sure is proving himself to be a Bollywood Oprah Winfrey!

Shahid has been getting inspired from his girlfriend Kareena and has been waiting patiently for a good project to come his way. And finally when director Rohit Shetty of Golmaal fame read him the script of his next film, Shahid grabbed it with both hands.

The film will be produced by Ramesh Sippy. “Shahid told me that he has not signed any film in a long time but he loved my script from the time it was narrated to him. I am glad that I have him in the film. I have an odd combination in the film, with Nana Patekar and Shahid in the lead roles. But at the end of the day, it is a light-hearted, comedy film for family audiences. It is a very unusual role for Nana which the audiences have never seen before” says the director. So finally Shahid will start working for the film in mid 2007.

Shilpa Shetty is all ready to conquer Britain. After winning the British reality show Big Brother, Shilpa is all set to share some small talk with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Tony Blair. “It’s a huge honor. I am humbled,” said the Indian beauty. The meeting would take place on the 12th of March when the celebrations to mark the Commonwealth Day will happen. Looks like Shilpa ko Britain raaz aa gaya…her long stay may also bring an end to her search for love!!! So anyone in India wants to propose the lady be sure you book the air tickets soon.

The Indian damsel, Shilpa Shetty is in distress at Big Brother’s house. Shilpa Shetty has allegedly been paid £360,000 to appear on the show which is the original of the Indian television reality show Big Boss. She was brought in to please the Asian community in UK and is reportedly allowed to flirt with any of the inmates during the show. The lady was an instant attraction of the show with her killing looks which includes her 5’10” height. But now the damsel is in distress because of the racist attitude of some of the inmates. One of them, Jack Tweede, called the Bollywood actress “a Paki”. Another housemate Jade Goody said Shetty “made her skin crawl.” Goody’s mother, who was also on the show, refused to call Shetty anything but “the Indian.” The mother has now been evicted. But people from the NRI and UK community have not been keeping quiet seeing all this. UK media watchdog, Ofcom, received complaints from 200 on Monday to 2000 by Tuesday that Shetty was the target of racist attacks. Shetty’s tormentors are called the terrible trio of Jade, Jo and Danielle and want them evicted. The producers of Channel 4 say they take racism seriously and are monitoring all the housemates before taking appropriate measures. Outside the studios, Shetty appears to be enjoying tremendous popularity because of her Asian fans and her blooming romance with Dirk (like Anupama and Aryan romance story on Big Boss, the shows Indian Parallel). She is believed to be playing the game very well and is expected to win it.

Anupam Kher is one of the finest actors India has seen and the actor has now added one more plume on his and his country’s hat. Kher has signed up with film maker Ang Lee, the Oscar winning director of films like Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for his new Chinese film Lust, Caution. “You see the capabilities of a director who has made films like Brokeback Mountain and then he tells you ‘start, sound, camera and action’ then I think it’s a great feeling,” says Kher. The humble actor also says that working on this film will be “a great moment for me as a student of cinema. It’s been a lovely journey from Mahesh Bhatt to Ang Lee”. And it has been a wonderful journey for we audience to watch you on screen and still we crave for more of you!

With DHOOM 2 right around the corner, the comparison between the leading ladies is inevitable… but what about the first dhooming, I mean – leading lady aka Esha Deol! We can’t forget the shikdooming babe Rimii Sen either… I clearly remember shifting uncomfortably in my seat when I saw Abhishekh Bachchan drenching her in that sequence!
