Mommy’s day out!!! Ash to attend the French National Day celebrations.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to attend the French National Day celebrations in Mumbai, this Thursday, July 14. The event will be hosted by the French Embassy at a South Mumbai hotel.
Ash has been maintaining a low profile ever since the news of her pregnancy was out.
The actress’ French connection goes back a long way. Last month, she attended the French derby in Chantilly, France. Aishwarya is also a regular at the Cannes Film Festival for last several years.She is also the brand ambassador for a French cosmetic and a watch brand.
A source says, “She will be attending a show organised to celebrate the French National Day. There are several dignitaries and Aishwarya may make an appearance as she endorses a French brand. This would be her first public appearance since the announcement of pregnancy.”
As part of the celebrations, designers Rahul Mishra, Nachiket Barve and Narendra Kumar are designing costumes inspired by the French flag.
Nachiket Barve for whom Aishwarya has been a muse, is making a garment embodying the spirit of France using its national colours of red, white and blue.
Nachiket says, “She has sported my garments in the past and it’s always a pleasure to dress her up. Her presence in itself is great attraction to the evening.”
Salman Khan’s reaction towards Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy…
The news of Aishwarya’s pregnancy has created the expected buzz in Bollywood and now, even Salman Khan seems to be in a mood to mend fences with the Bachchans by congratulating the Bachchan bahu.
When asked to comment on the news of Aishwarya’s pregnancy, which was broken on Twitter by Big B, Salman said,
“I would definitely like to wish her. I would also tell Ash and Abhi to make a cricket team.”
Salman, who has donned the producer’s hat with ‘Chillar Party,’ seems to be very influenced by kids and looks like, this is what he’ d want Abhishek-Aishwarya to follow too.

News has it that the Bong babe and the cutie Shahid could be the new hot couple of B-Town. Her good friends have been talking about the new mystery man in her life for weeks now, but the dusky actress has so far only admitted to dating “someone new”, refusing to reveal his identity.
Says a source, “For over a month now, Bipasha has been talking about a very sweet guy in her life. She’s been telling friends that he’s an eligible young man and has been showering her with gifts and some much-needed attention. She’s been gushing to her friends about how “sweet and affectionate” he is. Bips maintains that while they are not serious yet, he’s been wooing her persistently and she’s basking in the warmth of his adoration.”
Well, Shahid and Bips have been bonding well lately. Thanks to their common interest – fitness – they got introduced by Shahid’s trainer Abbas.
The duo got along like house on fire, so much so that Shahid invited Bipasha to a special party hosted for very close friends at his newly renovated Andheri pad.

Katrina Kaif in Dhoom 3 and it’s confirmed!!!
Katrina Kaif outshining all other actresses, has finally been roped in as the leading lady in the Yashraj Film Dhoom 3.
The movie is full on action packed with Aamir Khan playing the baddie, escaping from inspector Jai (Abhishek Bachchan) and his sidekick Ali (Uday Chopra).
Well, now that the sweet and charming Katrina Kaif has bagged the prestigious role, she will have to undergo a through make over to fit into her character. Buzz also has it that the actress will have to don a bikini for the film.
Looks like after Anushka Sharma, it’s Katrina Kaif who is the Yashraj banner’s favorite girl. After ‘New York’, Kats has just got done with Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and is currently shooting for Ek Tha Tiger. There’s also an untitled YRF film with Shahrukh Khan.
Initially, rumors had it that Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu were also approached for the leadi role in the flick. However, it is Katrina who clinched it.
IK vs RK
Wondering who IK and RK are? The once friends, but now foes, Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Looks like IK is winning the competition over RK, at least for now. Wanna know how? Simple, let us take a look at their track record over the past one year. While Ranbir has had only one release (Anjaana Anjaani), which turned out to be a dud at the B.O, Imran has had three releases (I Hate Luv Stories, Break ke Baad and Delhi Belly), with the first one turning out to be a hit, the second recovering its investments and the third one becoming a super hit.
Ranbir, post the failure of Anjaana Anjaani, is yet to see a release, as his project with Imtiaz Ali (Rockstar) is being pushed back day-after-day and his next film is Barfee, which may only see the release towards the end of this year or in early 2012. Imran on the other hand, has Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with YRF and another tentatively titled project called Short Term Shaadi. According to industry sources, Mere Brother ki Dulhan would be a hit as well.
RK’s got to pick up pace now and deliver Rockstar and Barfee to stay afloat in this competition.
UTV movies final word on ‘Heroine’… Ash out PC in???
Madhur Bhandarkar’s ambitious project Heroine looks like a never ending project. Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy came as a shock to the director. But now the final word is out that since the movie would require Ash to dance, smoke and run, UTV Productions have decided that they cannot complete the project as Aishwarya, being in pregnancy stage, should not risk her health.
UTV movies released a press release stating: “We would like to put an end to the speculative and factually incorrect stories that are doing the rounds on Heroine, and to clarify the position on the film once and for all. At this point nothing is more important than Aishwarya’s well being and good health. In that context, we have all mutually agreed that the best step would be to avoid shooting further, rather than proceeding with an incredibly demanding schedule over the coming months. Even as we will truly miss this opportunity to work with Aishwarya, the entire unit wishes her the very best for the exciting time ahead, as she and Abhishek move into this special new phase in their lives.”
Since, Ash is no more a part of the film, rumours has it that Priyanka Chopra had shown keen interest in replacing Aish and even sms’ed Madhur to cast her!
However, Priyanka Chopra dismissed all rumours and wrote on a social networking website: “read some stupid article about how i wanna do @mbhandarkar268 s (Madhur Bhandarkar) film HEROINE..i think madhur is an amazing director and it’ll be amazing to work together again but GUYS this one aint it!!! I wish him and Aishwarya lots of luck with the film.”

Aamir Khan warns Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone…
Aamir Khan, the new item boy of Bollywood, has taken the industry by storm.
Aamir Khan has won so many hearts with his debut item song “I hate you like I love you” in his upcoming production Delhi Belly. Paying tribute to the disco era of Indian cinema of the 1980s, Aamir enacts Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and even Amitabh Bachchan.
That’s perhaps the reason why the item song has gone down very well with the fans who are particularly delighted by Aamir’s new retro makeover.
“As far as the item dance done by me is concerned, it is a warning to Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone that the era of item girls is over… now it’s time for item boys,” Aamir said.
Earlier, Aamir said that he has copied the styles of many cine legends in the dance number.
“I have copied Amitji’s hairstyle, Govinda and Mithunda’s dance style. Hair on my chest is from Anilji and the dressing is an amalgamation of all,” he said.
The song has been choreographed by Bosco, written by Akshat and composed by Ram Sampat.
Salman out, Sanjay in!! Bigg Boss season 5 gets bigger with Sanjay Dutt…
Salman Khan is high on demand. Producers have been queuing up to sign Salman, but he’s so hard-pressed for time that he has to turn down a lot of offers.
Latest news has it that Salman Khan has expressed his inability to host the fifth season of the telly show ‘Bigg Boss’ because of time issues.
Salman is busy with films like Bodyguard with Kareena Kapoor and Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif. After that he will commit to good friend Sajid Nadiadwala’s film Kick, brother Sohail Khan’s Sher Khan and, of course, Dabangg 2.
Sanjay Dutt has taken over from his good friend Sallu as the host of the show, with special appearances by Salman.
Kareena in OUATIM 2!
Wondering what OUATIM 2 is? Don’t worry! It’s actually a no brainer. OUATIM 2 is Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2, the sequel to the much acclaimed and successful film with the same name that cam out last year. While the first part saw Emraan Hashmi don the role of Dawood Ibrahim, the second part will have Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar donning Dawood’s role. Though this was set, the confusion was about who was going to play the role of Mandakini – Dawood’s love interest in the film.
There were a few names that cropped up. First it was Sonakshi Sinha, then it was Katrina Kaif and even Priyanka Chopra was approached to play the role. But, looks like Bebo has it in her kitty now? Well, who better than this talented actress to play this role? If the rumors are true, Kareena Kapoor will once again be pairing up with Akshay Kumar, after a long time indeed. Akshay-Kareena have been part of several projects in the past, and their on-screen chemistry was also awesome. Let’s have to wait and see how it works for this OUATIM 2, though!
Box office reports…
After Ready, it’s Double Dhamaal that’s making a killing at the Indian box office.
Ironically, both the films were thumbed-down by majority of critics. But the movie-going crowd seems to differ. Ready has already emerged as a blockbuster, and now director Indra Kumar’s film Double Dhamaal had a very good first weekend.
The film opened on Friday with a collection of Rs. 7.65 crore. The figure went up on Saturday to Rs. 8.11 crore, and on Sunday touched the Rs 9.91 crore mark. The total first-weekend collection of the film accumulates to Rs. 25.67 crores, which is a very good figure for a film that doesn’t have a crowd-pulling star, with the exception of Sanjay Dutt perhaps.
Furthermore, Double Dhamaal is expected to retain its hold on Monday and during the weekdays. Its collections might, however, slump from Friday onwards, as two much-anticipated films — Bbuddah – Hoga Terra Baap and Delhi Belly hit the theatres.
Salman is ‘Ready’….
At the music launch of his upcoming comedy film Ready, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan charmed the film’s ladies, Asin and Zarine Khan, in his own unique way.
On being asked if Ready will be a bigger hit than Wanted and Dabangg, Salman said, “We don’t make films thinking it should be the biggest flop, theatre mein ‘ek kutta bhi na aaye’.”
Sallu never misses any opportunity to promote his Being Human cause. He was peeved to see some people at the event wearing fake Being Human T-shirts and told them not to buy fakes.
Zarine Khan wore a Being Human shirt and Sallu too, was wearing a BH tee.
Emraan-Jacqueline’s on screen chemistry is mind blowing…
It was during the shoot of Murder 2, when Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandes got to know each other. And we must tell you, the duo did an awesome job. Their on-screen chemistry is simply sizzling and mind blowing.
The sequel has several intimate and dare-bare scenes that the stars have pulled off easily.
