Ayesha Takia’s Wedding Postponed

still65.jpg

Ayesha Takia was supposed to wed restaurateur Farhan Azmi on Christmas Eve but her wedding has now been postponed to mid-2009. All this thanks to the terror attacks in Mumbai.

The groom, Farhan confirmed the news saying,”Ayesha is currently in Greece shooting a song for Boney Kapoor’s Wanted. The groom-to-be confirms, “When Ayesha heard the news of the attacks, she broke down. Dad (SP party leader Abu Azmi), was in a hospital recuperating from an operation; he too started crying when he heard about the terrorist attacks. None of us are in the mood for any celebrations this year. Our mood is too grim and somber. There can be no wedding celebrations as of now maybe mid-2009 and that too it will be a small and private affair.”

Farhan adds, “We are all shaken up by what happened. I saw it happening next door, as Nariman House is seven buildings away from our home and very close to the Taj and Oberoi hotels. When the Oberoi was sealed, many guests came from there to Koyla and Café Basilico (both owned by Farhan). None wanted to stay, so I took them home. On the first night from Koyla, which is 500m away from the Taj, we could see the fire burning on the sixth floor and hear women and children screaming to be let out ‘please help us’… It still gives me goose bumps to even think about it.”

Ayesha had informed all her producers and directors that she will quit acting after she gets married and she intended to wrap all her committments before December.

Ayesha Overcomes Her Fears In “De Taali”

Ayesha+Takia2.jpg
Ayesha Takia, who will be seen in the movie “De Taali” had little problems while shooting for the film. A particular scene demanded her to sit at a catapult, which was to raise high above the ground to a great height. Ayesha Takia who has a great fear of heights first gave up and said she couldn’t do it. But the pranksters Aftab and Ritesh din’t give up and finally tricked her to sit into the catapult by promising that it wouldn’t move. However, as the catapult moved and attained height, Ayesha started screeming for life but seeing the huge crown below, all cheering for her, she made her mind to overcome the fear and deliver a great shot.
Now, did the director pay Aftab and Ritesh a bonus for this work???

ayesha-takia-sexy11.jpg
Ayesha Takia who is a true foodie, had problems with people commenting on her over weight lately. And so, the reports say, she joined the gym and shed away those extra kilos of weight. But doesn’t bollywood loves to gossip about everything? And so, there are rumors now, that the cute faced girl underwent a surgery to get that slim look. Now, this bothered Ayesha even more than the comments on her over weight. Poor girl had to go announce it to every one that her weight loss was genuinely from the hard work at gym and not some stupid surgery. But the rumors are just not dying.

Though Tushar has been in the industry for long he has not carved any niche in the industry. So the movie proves to be equally crucial for Tushar as it is for Karan.

Dor – A review!

So all of us were waiting for this off beat film to release which initially seemed to be nothing more than an art film in its trailers, but later settled down into our minds as another most awaited venture… DOR

Nagesh Kukunoor indeed knows how to handle pressure well because after ‘Iqbal’, hedor-image1.jpg knew teaming up with Shreyas Talpade and picking an out and out off beat topic could prove suicidal for his career, if not treated properly!

Shreyas Talpade knew it very well too that his voice had to be as involving as his silence in his debut film…

The whole crew knew it very well that it was serious business – VERY serious business indeed!!!

After months of toil and hard work, what they created could only leave me spell bound as a spectator… couldn’t stare at the screen for long though, because the cinematography by Sudeep Chaterjee was so great that I had to cover my eyes every time the wind blew over the golden sand dunes on the screen… because he made it look so real that I was afraid the sand might blow straight into my face!!!

It was not just the deserts of Rajasthan and the springs n waterfalls of Himanchal Pradesh that were brought to life, but each and every character too!

dor-image2.jpgThough the camera work was again done exceptionally well to capture every subtle movement and mannerism of the actors, but I must say that every actor got into the skin of the characters and didn’t leave it till the very end!

Once again, we’ll not discuss the story here, but one thing is for sure, that this gloomy and serious looking film has it’s own hilarious moments (read – whirlwinds of laughter!) thanks to the ever so charming and versatile Shreyas Talpade… though he’s done a cameo, he knows how to make his presence felt by being as simple and as natural as possible…

The actresses Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag are the only characters of the film which don’t fall up to the expectations – They rise much beyond them!!!

Ayesha has wonderfully shed her glam doll image and lived her girl-woman character to the hilt…

Gul Panag has the ability to give you a lump in your throat with her expressions towards the end of the film and at that age, she makes you go wowww!

The best part about the film is its language! The detail with which it’s been worked upondor-image3.jpg is simply superb (which a veteran like Amol Palekar and ShahRukh Khan couldn’t do in ‘Paheli’)! Never comes a moment in the entire movie, when the language takes a jerk or goes off track….

Hats off to you Nagesh!!! The young mind you are and the quality of your productions, you have proved it that ‘Zindagi Badi Honi Chahiye…Lambi Nahin…’ the punch line of the saga!

The film is a tribute to Hrishida, Late Shri. Hrishikesh Mukherjee… I say, there couldn’t have been a better one for the maestro…………….
