Look who has has some unflattering words for Aishwarya Rai!!
Italian historian and author of about 17 historical novels, Valerio Massimo Manfredi has a few unpleasant words for Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai.
For those who do not know, Aishwarya Rai along with Colin Firth and Ben Kingsley, acted in the film ‘The Last Legion’, which is adapted from Manfredi’s own book.
Talking to a news agency, Manfredi said, “My character of the leading lady was totally different. She was from a village but Aishwarya was totally different. She was the lover of the protagonist…but she acted as if the film was for kids,” Manfredi is quoted to have told IANS.
In love with Aishwarya Rai’s eyes, Manfredi regretted the lack of expression of love in them.
“She has such strong expressive and beautiful eyes. Some little expression of love would have made the film more different,” Manfredi added.
“I have noticed that everybody who has not read the book liked the film and those who read the book did not like the movie. This is very usual because they are two different kinds of expression. While the book uses words, cinema uses images,”
Manfredi was in India to launch the Indian editions of his popular Alexander trilogy.
Did Aishwarya do a cover shoot?
Till last week, we heard that Aishwarya Rai has been rejecting several offers coming her way, because of her two-months-old baby. However, the latest is that the actress has posed for the cover page of the January edition of Elegant Living magazine, which is a US based publication.
On the cover, Ash is all decked up in a white suit and a hat. She looks quite slim and trim. So we wonder when did the shoot happen!
Buzz has it that the mag, having Ash on its cover, is just a publicity stunt so as to attract people to purchase their copies with the hope of getting a glimpse of recent images of Ash and her baby.
Currently, when the entire nation is curious to know what’s cooking in the Bachchan pariwaar, whats delaying the formal naming of the baby, etc etc, having Aishwarya on the maazne cover is the best way to get its copies sold, like hot cakes.
These marketing gimmick , i tell you.!
Family comes before films for Aishwarya rai.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is enjoying every moment of her motherhood. The actress is being flooded with offers and very good scripts, from many filmmakers, but she doesn’t seem too keen on getting back to work, anytime soon.
Buzz has it that some of the filmmakers have offered the actress films, casting hubby Abhishek Bachchan as the lead actor. Yet, Ash has rejected all of them.
The recent rumor about Ash being a part of Sanjay Leela Bansali’s film has also fizzled out. Close sources say, now that Ash is a mommy, she has decided to give her complete attention to her little baby. And if sources are to be believed, Ash, so far is not even giving a thought to making a comeback in Bollywood.
Well, we are really pleased to know that Ash has kept her family above everything else.
Oprah plans to keep Ash’s gift..
Oprah Winfrey looked absolutely gorgeous draped in a colorful sari, on Monday. And as reported earlier, the beautiful sari was gifted to her by the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
As soon as Oprah landed in India, she rushed to the Bachchan parivaar, to visit Abhi-Ash’s new born, Beti B. In the evening, Oprah along with the Ash, Abhi and Big B, went to Parmeshwar Godrej’s party, hosted for Oprah.
At the do, Oprah wore a Tarun Tahiliani sari, gifted by Ash. The international talk show queen loved the Indian attire so much that she plans to take it with her back to the USA.
Oprah Winfrey and Aishwarya Rai share a thick bond of friendship. Ash also appeared on Oprah’s chat show twice.
The talk show queen described Beti B as a ‘princess’.
However, the wait for the little one’s name still continues.
Beti-B, first on Oprah Winfrey’s to-do list…
Oprah Winfrey is in India and is very keen on paying a visit to the Bachchan parivaar. Well, the international talk show queen wants to meet Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s two-month-old daughter, Beti B.
Says a source, “She has landed here and the first thing she wants to do is meet Ash and her baby…So, she will be visiting them in ‘Jalsa’ before she heads for the party.”
Aishwarya Rai even gifted Oprah a sari which she wore for the party.
“The gracious Oprah Winfrey visits our home, to meet us and bless the baby..warm hearted, endearing .. drive her to party in her honor. And Oprah in sari .. looking lovely !!” Amitabh Bachchan later wrote on Twitter.
To honour Winfrey, socialite Parmeshwar Godrej threw a bash on Monday night and to the bash were spotted a of variety of well-known figures and celebrities.
The Godrej party turned out to be an enjoyable one, for after it Oprah Winfrey tweeted: “@FarahKhanAli was so great meeting you and all the beautiful Bollywooders. Directors, poets, screenwriters, what a nite!”
Shobhaa De and actress Sameera Reddy were a few among the guests.
Aishwarya Rai on Dabboo Ratnani’s 2012 Calendar!
In the pictures released by celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani, Aishwarya Rai looks drop dead gorgeous in the first look of his 2012 calendar. What’s interesting is that these pics were actually taken so as to be featured in ‘Heroine’.
Reveals Dabboo, “I did a shoot with Aishwarya that was to be featured in the movie (Heroine), much like the one I did with Priyanka Chopra in Fashion. The stills are from the same shoot.”
But what we remember is that Ash had warned director Madhur Bhandarkar to refrain using any of her pics for the promotion of his film ‘Heroine’. However, it is learnt that the actress did not turn down the ace photographer’s request to picture her in his calendar, as long as he did not use them in any association with the film.
Well, this years calander also features Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Ajay Devgan, Shahrukh Khan, and Bipasha Basu.
Ash is a great mom says Abhi!
Abhishek Bachchan recently spoke his heart at a recent interview, talking about his gorgeous wife Ash, how it feels to have a flop flick and whats keeping him joyful these days. The actor also revealed that Aishwarya is unlikely to return to acting anytime soon.
The happy papa says that Ash is in no mood to return to films anytime soon as she is savoring all the happy joyous moment of motherhood. He also adds that Ash is a great mommy.
“But I’m sure, she would continue acting. I am the last person to stop her,” says Abhishek Bachchan.
Abhi also said that he gets very upset when his films flop at the box office. He feels very bad when he is not give credit for his work only because he is a superstar son.
Abhishek Bachchan on Beti B…
Beti B is not yet named. It’s been more than a month now. Fans are waiting to see the baby girl. But nither the baby nor her pic has been revealed to public.
However, Abhishek Bachchan is kind enough to give us latest updates on his little angel, while he was promoting his upcoming flick ‘Players’, in Bengaluru.
“Thankfully she (daughter) resembles her mother, but I have been told by the veterans that children’s face changes over time … I think it sounds better she looks like her mother.”
On asking the actor how he felt on getting the first glimpse of his baby, he said,
“It’s the most indescribable thing that ever happens…No matter how good is your vocabulary, you can never get words of what you feel when you see the child… It is wonderful,” Abhishek revealed.
Abhishek also added, “I would let you know as soon as I have decided upon a name.”
Ash-Abhi’s beti turns a month old!
On this day last month, the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to a baby girl. So soon its already a month and the baby hasn’t been named yet.
Beti B turns a month old and the Bachchan fans flooded Big B with congratulatory messages from all over.
“Today 16th Dec … The little one a month old .. God’s blessings and the love of all .. Thank you …” Amitabh Bachchan wrote on Twitter.
Adding that the baby’s name hasn’t been finalized yet, Mr Bachchan wrote, “The name for the little one is not firmed yet .. Will let all know when it is ..”

Aishwarya to make a come back early next year!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been in news from quite sometime now. First it was her pregnancy, then her baby and now it is whether the actress will make a come back anytime soon.
Well, like we earlier reported, the actress will be making a special appearance in the South superstar Ranikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’.
If this buzz is true, then this will be her first filmy appearance post delivery. Like we have reported earlier too, Ash is on a one year break and it is only after that will she decide to make a come back or not.
Says a source, “There was a lot of back and forth on what project Rajnikanth would be working on, post his illness. But now he has already started work on his daughter Soundarya’s film Kochadaiyaan.
Though the leading lady for the film is yet to be finalised, it was decided from the very beginning that they would request Aishwarya to do a special appearance.”
Adds the source, “Rajni sir shares a very warm relationship with Aishwarya and there’s little chance that she would say no to him.
Even during the making and promotions of Robot, it was evident that they would definitely work in a film together again. However, now that Ash has other family and professional commitments, it seems difficult for her to devote time for a full-fledged role and hence this.”
For Aishwarya, films can wait!
Beauty queen Aishwarya Rai has no plans on coming back in films, anytime soon. As of now, the gorgeous actress is very content changing her baby’s nappies.
Buzz had it that Ash is all ready to make a comeback very soon, with ‘Bajirao’, a Sanjay Leela Bansali film and that she is super excited to work opposite Shahrukh Khan.
However, as a source tells a tabloid, “SLB and Shah Rukh have spoken about a role. But it is certainly not Bajirao. As for Aishwarya it would be quite a while, at least a year before she even contemplates returning to movies.”
Initially, i.e. way back in 2001, when Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were dating, Sanjay thought to cast the two love birds in ‘Bajirao’. However, things didn’t materialize. Buzz had it that SRK will now jump into Sallu’s shoes for the film.
However, a source says, it is just a rumor and a trick to intensify the Khan war.
Coming back to Aishwarya Rai, the actress will not make a comeback anytime soon and is probably on a one year long leave.
