Aree Aur suno Guru…!
Abhishek is being heavily complimented for his sleek, slender and sexy looks till now…have you ever wondered how he agreed to put on eleven kilos for his 65-year-old character in Guru? Are tension kyon lene ka…mai hoon na bata ne ke liye…believe me it is all Mr Ratnam’s strategy. Fortunately for Mr Ratnam, Abhishek’s got a sweet tooth and therefore his million-dollar idea worked well. Abhishek was first taken aback by the demand, as he had to join the Dhoom-2 team after the Guru schedule but then being a dedicated actor he agreed to it. Like father like son! And so began Mr Ratnam’s strategy to feed Abhishek at least 12 Rasagullas every day!!! Now that’s what u call having a penchant for reality.
Even Ash was asked to put on a few kilos but not as much as Abhishek. I guess Mr Ratnam missed out on that part of reality…Guju women at middle age are really hefty!!! No offence to the community…I was just pointing out Guru details yaar- java dyo ne!!!
Abhishek all set for a new look!
Abhishek is already spotting a new look in Guru and Dhoom-2. The actor is working out for his yet another new look as ‘maharaja’ in Yash Raj production’s “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom”. Before you jump into conclusion that it is going to be a period film let me inform you that it is not. It is an out an out this generation film. And guess what- the ‘Mumbai se Aaya Mera Dost’ pair repeats- Abhishek and Lara Dutta are teaming up again and Lara is as usual looking sexy in the film.

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is being directed by Shaad Ali and also stars Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol and Amitabh Bachchan.
Aage ki dastan…
“Han to meherbaan, Kadardaan suniye aage ki dastaan”.
Mani has chosen an impressive starcast for the film and one can say that characters speak for the actors that have been chosen for the role. Let me give you a quick review at the starcast:

Abhishek Bachchan as Gurukant Desai: There’s a saying in our village, if people say bad things about you, you must be doing something good. Sounds true, doesn’t it?
Aishwarya Rai as Sujatha: I hated my father for forcing me to marry Guru. But I was sent away to Bombay to live with my unwanted husband and my anger
in a one-room chawl. I don’t know when I stopped thinking of him as a stranger and started calling him Guru. I was too shy to say things like I love you, but love was perfume I wore everyday. Some people call him God, some say he is evil, but for me he is the man who has to just enter the room and I can feel that perfume waft its way across and settle on me… that perfume called love.
Mithun Chakraborty as Manikdas Gupta (Nanaji): Swathantra – is the newspaper I run, and the newspaper runs me. Gurubhai
was like a son to me, when I met him first on the streets of Bombay. He had righteous anger and a desire to achieve his goals. I liked that. He was in a hurry to make his own way. I liked that even more. When others told me that Gurubhai was not all white, I thought they were envious of him and ignored them. That was my mistake. No cost is too great in the pursuit of truth. And in my fight for the truth I knew that I’d either destroy Guru or myself. And I was prepared for both.
Madhavan as Shyam Saxena: Gurukanth Desai should be put in a jail and the keys should be thrown away. It’s not just that he is evil, but he awakens the evil in everyone. Gurubhai flirted
with the law and the lawmakers, did anything and everything to enhance his business, and then buried the laws and built a fountain on top of it to make the grave look pretty. Profit and the share price were the only two parameters that mattered to him. Right and wrong, just and unjust were incidental. I will fight him and the Gurus of this world till the very end.
Vidya Balan as Meenu: I met Gurubhai when I was seven years old. He was the only one who never asked me
why I limped. While Nanaji and Shyam could only see what Gurubhai had done, I could see why he had done it. When you run fast you do kick up a lot of dust. But dust always settles. I could see it from my wheelchair but Nanaji could not. I like fights. And this one where everyone I loved was fighting each other was exciting. They cared but they fought. The contradiction was exactly like life. And I loved life. Especially when there was so little of it left.

Ashwariya’s brother and Abhishek’s close friend. MallikaArya Babbar, son of Raj and Nadira Babbar, acts as Sherawat gives a guest appearance in the movie but this time in full costume. Now isn’t that a deadly starcast…I swear that it’s gonna be a different but pleasant experiment on screen.
I guess I poured out a lot today! Just a small wait and I’ll be back in less than 24 hours.
Gowarikar is planing it Biiiiiiig!
Ashutosh Gowarikar is one tough dude for whom criticism never takes shape of an impasse. Jodha-Akbar has drawn flak from the Rajputs and from the semi-government organization for tampering history, which is none of our concern here. Still Gowarikar plans it big for his forth-coming film, which is on production floor right now.

Being a period love story from Jaipur, Gowarikar roped in Art Director Nitin Desai to build a replica of the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ with two million mirrors. The director has already erected the Amar Singh Darwaza, Diwan-E-Aam and Diwan-E-Khaas. Jaipur government should encourage the movie, as it would give a boost to the already booming tourism industry there. I wonder if Ms Raje is listening! The film is also known to have Tanishq sponsoring the real gold and diamond jewelry for it. Man what a budget Gowarikar’s set apart for it!
Guru le hogayee mai shuroooooooooo!!!
Han to doston… Directed by Mani Ratnam, who has written the script with Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Anurag Kashyap, Guru, is said to be a mature love story. The film was shot in Turkey and Bagalkot, Karnataka, as well as in Chennai. The architecture and mood of the film is so meticulous that one is instantly transported to the Bombay of the 1950s.
Mani Ratnam films are always prooned in secrecy and when they release they just take the audience by a whirlwind. This time Mani didn’t even narrate the entire script to anyone except Abhishek Bachchan who plays the title role and is in the film from the beginning to end.

The unit members share that “No actor from Mani’s repertoire has ever had a chance to play a role like the one Abhishek plays in Guru. His character starts in his 20s in the Bombay of 1950s and ages to 65. Abhishek not only had to put on weight but had to be fitted with a specially made bodysuit to make him look bulky and obese. It took him four hours every day in the sweltering sun just to get into the bodysuit and another hour at the end of the day to get out of costume. But at the end of the day the effort was worth his while.”
Wooph, bulky Abhishek? But of course the risk is worth taking for Mani! Stay tuned for the next piece of Guru people!
90 crores + 900 prints worldwide = DHOOM 2 ki DHOOM….
Guys… I can swear that my heart beats a lil louder and the heart-beat rate just gets faster the moment the word DHOOM 2 is mentioned… I can’t believe we’ve entered the week of the movie’s release already… it’s gonna be 90 crores and a whole lotta toil n efforts at stake… will DHOOM 2 rock the country as much as its prequel, if not more???
The advance booking for the flick starts in a few hours and I’m taking no chances… I don’t mind sleepin while waiting in that endless queue outside the multiplex… but this time I’m not watchin the movie in the first row of the I Max (I don’t trust you BOSS)!!!
You guys still reading my blog??? Get going people… be a part of the history this bike flick is gonna create………………
DHOOM MACHAALEEEEEEE………..
Guru ho ja shuroooooooo…!!!
With all due respect and reverence to my revered audience, I take a pledge that I will duly fulfill my duty to keep you abreast with all the information on Mani Ratnam’s film “GURU”!!! Will that do for a formal pledge? Well even if it doesn’t I am going to give the regular updates on ‘Guru’ for sure. And that’s a promise.
He is known to produce the real with a fresh entertaining factor. Mani Ratnam consistently chose realistic, contemporary themes and complex plots for his movies in an industry often accused of making commercial, fairy-tale-like, formulaic movies. And in his career, now spanning two decades, GURU is no exception. Even this promises a middle way carefully carved between the artistic and the commercial.

The promo of Guru is out and creating ripples at the box office.
Its music, by none other than A.R Rahman, is wining rave reviews in the industry. And the story is that of the classic, elegant Gujarati youth who, as the movie says, is the villager, a visionary and a winner.
‘Guru’ stars Abhishek Bahchcan, Mithun Chakravarthy, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan and Vidya Balan in the lead while Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Hariharan, Shreya Ghoshal, Chitra, Madhushree, A R Rahman and Bappi Lahiri do the singing part of it. And of course Mallika does a fully clothed song for Ratnam. No one but Mani Ratnam could have done that I suppose!
And before you are totally in mood to listening to everything written or spoken about GURU let me ask you to wait for a little while (not more than 24 hours) before I reveal the inner stuff about GURU. Stay tuned people…ah don’t sigh its gonna be one heck of a journey!
Aishwarya Rai – bikini secrets!
People, I’m saying this for the nth time, BUT —— DHOOM 2 is cccccoooommmmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggg !!!!!!! Well, I practically can’t (and don’t wanna) write about anything else but the movie, the cast (including Aishwarya Rai in that flicked bikini!) and the fashion statement it’s gonna make!
A short dialogue with the movie’s stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania reveals the way Ash is gonna look in the bike flick… she reveals that the 1994 miss World is definitely gonna reveal much more than she ever has!!!
But when you ask her about flicking Aishwarya Rai’s bikini from UK model Keeley Hazell, she can’t wait to justify… “When I bought that dress for Aishwarya, Keeley Hazell may have also bought it for herself from that same designer,” says the red faced lady…
Which DHOOMing lady will do the magic for DHOOM 2 ???
With DHOOM 2 right around the corner, the comparison between the leading ladies is inevitable… but what about the first dhooming, I mean – leading lady aka Esha Deol! We can’t forget the shikdooming babe Rimii Sen either… I clearly remember shifting uncomfortably in my seat when I saw Abhishekh Bachchan drenching her in that sequence!
So guys… the field is set! It’s the previous dhooming babes – Esha n Rimii… against the coming up dhooming beauties – Aishwarya Rai n Bipasha Basu!!! Though this seems to be a one-sided affair from the word go, but don’t forget that Rimii n Esha were the ones who helped in setting up the DHOOM brand initially!!!
The bikini show is gonna be eye candy for sure…. but will we be treated with another shikdoom???
So just before you ‘sweat it out’ in the heat of those scorching hot beauties next week, let the world know what you feel about those ladies……..
DHOOM 2 mein dhoom – with KAJRA RE!!!
Well guys, as the DHOOM 2 fever catches up more and more on all of us, the ‘Kajra re’ syndrome too has not lost touch!!! Don’t believe me? Then go check the last 100 songs that played in your I pod or music system…
Uday Chopra might agree with me more than ever, coz it was that very song in his I pod, which made the whole Rio crew of DHOOM 2 get up and groove their bodies at 2 AM!!!
Added to all that, Abhishekh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai actually got on to the stage and performed on the whole song! Their chemistry is surely growing by the day huh
Hope we get oodles of that in the movie to… cheers to DDDDDDHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!
‘Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay’ + Abhishekh Bachchan – Shreyas Talpade = ???
Looks like Ram Gopal Varma has learnt to live and sustain himself in Bollywood against all odds now! His ‘Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay’ is being criticized by one and all after his declaration of Nisha Kothari as Ghungroo aka Basanti…
With the Sippy camp trying every rule of the book to suppress the film, Ramuji seems to steer clear of every iceberg huh! Hope his ship meets the shore… coz indeed it would be fascinating to watch the greatest commercial success from the eye of the uncrowned king of directors!!!

The latest addition to the camp is Abhishekh Bachchan, who’ll join daddy – the several times crowned king of actors – and Urmila Matondkar for the new age ‘Mehbooba-O-mehbooba’ number… but surprisingly, Shreyas Talpade (the behrupiya in DOR) has refused to play a cameo in it… remember the small, but important character Sachin played???
He says that doing such small cameos isn’t suitable for his career at this stage… well buddy… Sachin had two major hits to his credit as solo hero when he jumped for that role in the original… moreover, learn some thing from Abhishekh Bachchan. He got successful only through cameos… didn’t you baby AB???
