AB’s baby Abhishek Bachchan has equalled the Guinness’ world record for maximum public appearances in 12 hours while he promoted his latest film ‘Delhi 6′.

A source reported, “Abhishek’s record-breaking tour of Delhi and neighboring cities began two days later than scheduled, but was packed with record breaker choc-a-block post-release flurry of activities.

Abhishek first visited the EDM Mall in Ghaziabad, Spice at NOIDA, Crown Plaza in Faridabad, Select Citywalk, Ambience Mall and Central Mall in Chandigarh and Shoppers’ Stop in Juhu in Mumbai.

But at precisely 7.35 p.m. Sunday in Chandigarh at the PVR Theatre Central Mall, Tribune Chowk in Sector 29, Abhishek broke the existing Guinness record of German actors Jürgen Vogel and Daniel Brühl in the category of the greatest number of public appearances by a film star at different cities in 12 hours.

Exhausted but exhilarated Abhishek said: “I equalled the existing record at approximately 5 p.m. (Sunday). How do I feel? On top of the world. It always feels good to do something that goes beyond what’s already been done.”

Amitabh Bachchan expressed his feelings on his blog on daughter-in-law Aishwarya’s felicitation with the Padmashree Award.

“Aishwarya’s Padma decoration is the fifth in the family. My father received Padmabhushan, myself with (two) Padmashri and Padmabhushan and Jaya was receipient of Padmashri. Five Padma awardees in one family. God is generous and kind,” Bachchan wrote in his blog.

We hope Abhi gets the sixth one… sooner or later!

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had been totally cut off over the last few days thanks to Mani Ratnam’s shooting venue in the jungles of Kerala that rendered the couple totally inaccessible to the world.

Jaya Bachchan fell ill last week and this left the leading couple of Mani Ratnam’s film with no choice but to take a day off from shooting. When Abhishek left with Rakeysh Mehra to Dubai he was absolutely out of contact with dear wife Aishwarya and not only family every one in the industry could not access the couple who seem separated from the rest of the world.

Says Abhishek, “This wouldn’t have been possible if we weren’t for the fact that we wrapped up shooting at one location and we were moving to another location. So that gave me manoeuvring power.

It’s not so much the distance but the inaccessibility. Out there in the jungles me and Aishwarya were totally cut off from Mumbai and the rest of the world. That really had us worried about the family.”

Directors Sanjay Bansali and Vipul Shah got extremely frustrated because they wanted to lock Aishwarya’s dates before she commits to someone else.

“I’ve been trying to contact Aishwarya for weeks. She’s totally unreachable. I’m willing to fly down wherever she is. Now if she’s moving to Ooty she’d be more accessible,” says a desperate Vipul Shah.

Now that Dostana is has had phenomenal success at the box office worldwide, Abhishek Bachchan has no qualms in declaring that its a matter of pride for him that he is regarded as a Gay Icon by homosexuals.

He says, “I’m very happy with that. Why should I be surprised or shocked? I think homosexuals are as human as anyone else. It’s a matter of great pride if I’m their icon,” said Abhishek. Abhishek proudly declared his pairing with John as the Jodi of the Moment saying, “Other screen couples can go eat their hearts out.”

There were rumors that the Bachchan family didnt take Abhishek’s homosexual act very well. But Abhi clarifies,

“Why should he take offence? Not at all! The film is not about homosexuality. Dostana isn’t Brokeback Mountain. It was just a comedy. My whole family has thoroughly enjoyed it. Who doesn’t enjoy a good laugh? It’s a normal fun film. Aishwarya is very happy it’s a big hit…my second big hit of the year after Sarkar Raj.”

Aishwarya Rai celebrated her most romantic birthday in the wilderness of Kochi, Kerala, with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. This was all she could wish for on her birthday.

She said, “In a way I couldn’t have asked for more. It’s a beautiful green paradise here. We started shooting just a day ago. And we already feel those vibes of an extraordinary happening. And my husband is with me.

So is my most favorite director (Mani Ratnam) who directed us in in one of our best films together (Guru) and who incidentally also happens to be my first director. And we’re working on the most beautiful film that we could ever hope for. What better birthday could I as for?”

Ask her what she has asked for as a birthday gift and she says,

“Ha, ” laughs lovely diva, “You know me. I don’t ask for anything. I already have everything that I could possibly want without asking for. And like I said I’m with the love of my life in the wilderness.

Sadly no one will be able to get through to me where I’m shooting. But all the sms, prayers and love will be with me when I return to civilization in the evening tomorrow. Yeah I miss my family on my birthday. But then I can’t have it all, can I?”

Aishwarya indicated that Mani Ratnam had given her a day off yesterday so that she could go out with Abhishek and enjoy celebrating her birthday.

For Aishwarya Rai, who turned 35 yesterday, life has never been more beautiful. She is happy and married, her career has reached a peak and she is keeping up there with new projects on hand.

Aishwarya is particularly excited for her forthcoming film with Abhishek by Mani Ratnam.

“It’s a really exciting thought for me and Abhishek to be coming together again with Mani Ratnam. All I can say about the film is that it goes into a completely different theme from ‘Guru’,” Aishwarya, who turned 35 today, told an Indian newspaper.

“You can’t expect Mani sir to go into the same space twice. Working with him is an exciting thought for any actor. The way he connects to his actors is very clear in the films that he makes. He creates magic on screen,” she added.

Talking about her last film with Mani Ratnam opposite Abhishek Bachchan, she said, “It has been a very precious experience on every level, and not just on a personal level. I’d say it was professionally very fulfilling.”

Despite their busy schedules, Abhi and Ash find ample time to spend with each other.

“I had joined Abhishek in Jaipur where he was shooting for ‘Dilli 6?. Then I was with him in Miami for ‘Dostana’. I also packed in Cannes and Paris. Life is beautiful. It really is. You know, life is as special as you make it for yourself. Of course, you can’t live your life in a bubble. There’re people who want to rain on your parade. It’s up to you how you protect your space,” said Aishwarya.

Perhaps that was a pointer to – ehem ehem.. You know who!

Aishwarya did not even get time to heave a sigh of relief as her dad Krishna Raj got admitted to hospital as soon as dad-in-law Amitabh Bachchan got discharged.Krishna Raj Rai, who has been diagnosed with cancer, was admitted to hospital on Thursday after complaining of  restlessness.

Both Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai had visited Mr. Rai in hospital.

While the Bachchans boys bonded well at the premiere of Drona, the ladies of the family maintained distance. Jaya Bachchan is obviously not pleased with Shahrukh and she made it very obvious at a press conference of a lifestyle magazine ‘People’.

She was asked to comment on the Salman-Shahrukh brawl which was a result of Shahrukh making a nasty comment about Aishwarya Rai. She said that that she would have slapped Shahrukh if he had made any infamous statement about her respective and down-to-earth bahu in her presence.

Jaya said she will ask Shahrukh if he really remarked badly about Ash and if his answer is positive, she will slap him.

In that case Shahrukh, you know what to say to avoid the slap… Jokes apart… wonder if she really meant that!

Amitabh Bachchan emergency admission in hospital on his 66th birthday made the entire nation skip a beat.

“My father has intestinal problems and is doing well now. He is responding well to the medicines,” said Abhishek.

“My father will remain in hospital for the next 48-72 hours and I thank all his fans and you journalists for being supportive of our family at this juncture,” he added.

Big B’s actor friends called in and wished him a speedy recovery while all the filmmakers are really praying for his quick recovery because he has over 100 crore worth film projects riding over him.
