Bobby Deol

Bobby Deol was born on 27 January 1967 into a Punjabi family. Born as Vijay Singh, he is the son of yesteryear Bollywood movie star Dharmendra and the younger brother of Sunny Deol.

Bobby Deol made his debut in Bollywood as an actor with Barsaat in 1995. He was awarded the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his performance in Barsaat. However Bobby’s breakthrough movie was the suspense thriller Gupt: The Hidden Truth, in 1997. The movie was acclaimed for its story line and soundtrack and was a major commercial success.

Later in 2000, Bobby Deol appeared in the moderately successful action drama Badal alongside Rani Mukerji. His next movie Humraaz, alongside Akshay Khanna and Ameesha Patel got him a nomination for the Filmfare Best Actor. In 2007 Bobby was seen in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Priety Zinta, Lara Dutta, and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie under performed at the box office. His next commercial success was boxing drama, Apne. In 2011 Bobby appeared in Yamla Pagla Deewana alongside Dharmendra and Sunny Deol. He later starred in the film Thank You alongside Sonam Kapoor, Akshay Kapoor, Suni Shetty, Rimi Sen and Celina Jaitley.

Bobby Deol is married to Tanya Ahuja and has two sons.
