But Arjun is still not satisfied and wishes to do films with his childhood crush Kareena Kapoor.

“I want to work with Anushka (Sharma), Katrina (Kaif) and yes not to forget Kareena Kapoor as she is my first genuine crush. But I don’t know when I will get the opportunity. It is always good to work with different actors, instead of repeating the same. May be by next year, I will have projects opposite them. I want to work with all of them,” he said.

“I am really lucky in comparison to all the other young actors because I am working with all the top actresses whether it is Priyanaka, Deepika, Sonakshi, Parineeti. I am also working with Alia,” Arjun told

Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have already featured as her male leads in movies and for the first time she will be seen pairing up opposite Ranveer Singh in Lootera. The chemistry between Sonakshi and Ranveer has garnered positive response from the audience so far and the promotional trailers show a lot of promise at the box-office.

Sonakshi’s upcoming flick Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again where she’s opposite Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan is already the talk of the B-Town while the latest reports that have emerged suggest that Sonakshi has acquired another role. Shahid Kapoor must be having millions of fans especially ladies but two of his campatriots – Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh might be the two fans Shahid Kapoor won’t forget!

Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were shooting for their film, Gunday in Wathar, Maharashtra, while they decided to play a prank on Shahid Kapoor who was also shooting along the same stretch for Pradbhudeva’s Rambo Rajkumar!

Shahid was shooting on top of a truck while an insider from the Gunday unit recalls, ” “We had packed up a little late, so Ranveer and Arjun had their make-up on while heading back to the hotel. They were covered in soot, coal and mud from head to toe. When they were passing by the spot where Shahid was shooting, they thought of the prank.”

The actors screamed hanging out of their car’s windows which startled Shahid. “They started yelling and saying things like, ‘Aye hero, idhar dekh’ and ‘Shahid, oh my God, I love you’,” adds the insider.

“At first, Shahid, Prabhudheva and their entire unit were stunned oShahid Kapoor must be having millions of fans especially ladies but two of his campatriots – Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh might be the two fans Shahid Kapoor won’t forget!n two strange-looking men covered in coal shouting loudly. Directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, “Highway” is the story of two completely different individuals who take a road trip in a truck.

“I wanted to do something challenging, something different and I got this chance to do it in my second film,” Alia told reporters here Friday at the launch of international apparel and accessories brand Forever 21.

“I am very grateful (to god) that I got this opportunity,” she added.

Alia plays a Kashmiri girl in the film. She has finished shooting it.

“The shooting (for ‘Highway’) has finished. The film has been wrapped and now post production (work) will start,” said Alia, who is paired opposite Randeep Hooda in the film.

“Highway” will release Dec 13.

Alia, daughter of veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, is now caught up with her next project “2 States”, which is now in its third schedule.

“I am now fully into ’2 States’… shooting for it. Third schedule has started now,” said Alia.

“2 States” is about a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Tamil girl, and the ensuing cultural clashes between them and their families.”

In the film, which is being directed Abhishek Varman, Alia is paired with Arjun Kapoor.

“I am very excited about it,” Alia said.

The 27-year-old entered filmdom as a ruffian in “Ishaqzaade” and in his second venture “Aurangzeb” he ended up playing a double-role.

“It is a challenge that every actor dreams of doing in his career. I got it so soon and I jumped at it. I guess only Hrithik had done this in his first film (‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai’). I got it in my second. For me, the process was interesting to find the two characters,” Arjun told IANS.

Directed by Atul Sabharwal, the film opened to good reviews. Besides Arjun, it stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh and Sasheh Aagha.

Arjun stepped in to play Ajay and Vishal who are completely opposite characters.

If Ajay was the bad boy of Gurgaon who is “violent, rude and misbehaves with women”, Vishal, in contrast, is the small town boy “suddenly dragged into the world of cops and underworld”.

The main challenge was to portray the two characters with conviction, said Arjun.

“On the sets, while playing Vishal, I used to remember Ajay, so that I don’t play it like Ajay and vice versa,” he added.

He never expected his second film to be like this.

“I was offered ‘Aurangzeb’ before ‘Ishaqzaade’ released. I was surprised that they thought I was capable enough to pull a double-role. Also, when I read the script, I never expected Yash Raj Films to do this kind of film. You would probably expect me and Yash Raj to do my next film in a slightly more younger, fresher kind of zone. So this is what excited me that it was inverse to what every had in mind for me,” he said.

The actor said the film reminded him of classics like “Deewaar” and “Trishul”.

“I have grown up watching these gritty family dramas with ‘dialoguebaazi’. the old Yash Raj dramas like ‘Trishul’ and ‘Deewaar’ kind of films. That was what excited me. I got to work with such brilliant actors and work with a good director,” he said.

Apparently, Boney Kapoor is planning a sequel of Mr. India with his son Arjun Kapoor in the lead. The film’s original cast, Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, have reportedly confirmed their presence in the sequel already! It is being speculated that work on the film will only start when the father-son duo wrap up with their professional commitments. A source says, “There’s no question of Arjun not being part of the sequel. His father is producing it and Arjun is a star — it won’t make sense to not have him on board. But they aren’t discussing the project right now, as they are still working on the script’s final draft. Also, both of them are busy with their respective movies”.

Currently, Arjun Kapoor is working on romantic-comedy Gunday, which is slated for release on 14th February and Boney Kapoor is busy producing No Entry Mein Entry. Boney Kapoor is also producing a remake of the Telugu film Okkadu, which stars Arjun. It is believed that Boney Kapoor plans to make Mr. India 2 on a big scale. Most probably, the father-son duo will start working on the film by the end of this year when they would have fulfilled their prior commitments.

Now, she will be seen in a Konkani-English short film, which is being directed by Homi Adajania. The two had previously worked together on Cocktail, which was received well at the box-office! The film is titled “Finding Fanny” and is set in Goa. Deepika decided to take up the project when Homi was casually telling her about his plans and Homi was more than glad to oblige! “Homi narrated the story to me, while we were shooting for Cocktail, with no intention of casting me in the film. He was simply talking about an idea. I told him that I want to be part of it. He was surprised, because it’s not a regular feature film,” said Deepika, who will be seen with Ishaqzaade star Arjun Kapoor.

But, wouldn’t it be odd for Deepika Padukone to do a short film? She explains, “I agreed to do it for two reasons — my faith in Homi as a director, and the fact that I found the script exciting. I don’t like using the word offbeat, but it’s different from whatever I’ve done before in my career. Homi has wanted to make this film for a long time, and I’m happy he’s finally put it together.” The film is being produced by Saif Ali Khan’s Illuminati Films.

Recollecting his old days as an assistant director, Arjun Kapoor said, “I actually know her from even before the time when I had started off as an actor. I was an assistant on Salaam-e-Ishq and used to call her by saying – Madam, shot ready hai. Till date I tell her that Madam aap aaiye naa. The only difference is that earlier only she was in front of the camera and today both of us are. I am very fond of her and love her as an actor. She has not changed at all and that is the hallmark of a true star and an actor.”

The film garnered a little over 12 crores in it’s opening weekend. The film shall be remembered for Rishi Kapoor dynamic personality and also for Arjun Kapoor’s breakthrough performance. The rest of the movie was a little baffling to the mind but nevertheless, 12 crores seems just!

This may also explain why Arjun speaks so much about Salman at every given opportunity. He claims that Salman’s encouragement in him was empowering and that the four years he spent under Salman’s tutelage mean a lot to him. Arjun, who started out as an assistant director,  says that he would never have lost his overweight past had it not been for Salman stepping in and making him lose a tonne of weight.

Arjun, whose gritty thriller Aurangzeb is his latest release, has four more projects lined up. His first love was directing but now, he is finally finding himself as an actor and wants to establish himself in this space before looking at other aspects of film making.

Aurangzeb relied on Arjun to deliver a couble role, no easy task. Speaking about the role, Arjun says, “The film is set in today’s Gurgaon. It is about the family of land mafia. Police is after him. I play Ajay, the volatile son. In this picture comes my lookalike Vishal, who is used by the police. The characters are black and white. It was a challenge to pretend to be someone else but I enjoy playing characters that are out of my comfort zone.”

Last seen in Ishaqzaade, Arjun is once again a gun toting tough guy in Aurangzeb. He’s not afraid that he will get typecast and believes that his body language is what gets him these grittier roles. He plans to abolish that image with his forthcoming movies though. Reportedly, he will be working with Homi Adajania of Cocktail and Being Cyrus fame in an untitled English film. Let’s see if this new entrant can live up to his potential.
