Arjun Kapoor first donned the avatar of an assistant producer and assistant director in a few films. It was after that, he decided to give a stint in the movies after Salman Khan insisted that he give it a shot. The young actor is producer Boney Kapoor’s son. He was an Assistant Director for the films Shakti: The Power, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Salaam-E-Ishq.
Arjun made his debut with the film Ishaqzadee opposite Parineeti Chopra. Even though he was launched
by Yash Raj Films, Arjun was to debut with the film Virus Diwan by Y-Films.
Ishaqzadee made the Kapoor lad an overnight success and the film grossed 42.52 crores in three weeks.
Speaking of his performance, critic Taran Adarsh said,” Arjun Kapoor makes a fantastic debut. He has
a peerless body language and a ‘I-don’t-give-a-damn’ kind of an approach in the movie. The youngster,
with his untidy look and impish smile, has already won female reverence prior to the release of the film
and after having watched him emote, you can confidently say that he’s blessed to depict this rebellious
character in his launch vehicle itself. He comes across as fiery and rustic and at the same time self-
assured and assertive in this reckless and intrepid character.”
Arjun Kapoor is now filming for Aurangazeb opposite Sashaa Agha and Gunday with Priyanka Chopra
and Ranveer Singh. He will soon be seen in the remake of the Telugu film Okkadu. Another film is on the
cards – Adaptation of the novel 2 States opposite Alia Bhatt.
