Amrita Rao

Amrita Rao was born on 17 June 1981 in Mumbai. After pursuing a degree in Psychology, Amrita appeared in numerous commercials and music videos.

She made her debut as an actress in Bollywood with Ab Ke Baras in 2002 and next she appeared on Ishq Vishq in 2003 alongside Shahid Kapoor. Her character in Ishq Vishq won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. In 2004 she appeared in Masti, and Main Hoon Na, starring Shahrukh Khan, Sushmita Sen and Zayed Khan. She appeared in various movies like Shikhar, Pyare Mohan, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi and the hugely successful Vivah where she acted alongside Shahid Kapoor.

As of 2013, Amrita is working on movies like Singh Saheb The Great, Satyagraha and Hungame Pe Hungama.
