Ali will now be seen in a romantic film “Aman Ki Aasha” opposite Yami Gautam.

The actor is currently enjoying the success of David Dhawan’s “Chashme Buddoor”, and he says he is busy touring the US with concerts.

“It is great to see the response of the crowd to ‘Chashme Buddoor’ songs at concerts,” he added.

The 2004 Spanish film “Seres Queridos” (“Only Human”) was a comic love story of a Jewish girl and a Palestinian boy, while the Hindi version has an Indo-Pak setting.

“It’s about a Pakistani boy and an Indian girl. It’s a romantic comedy. It’s a remake of a Spanish film,” Ali told IANS. Yami Gautam plays his love interest in the movie.

“The shoot for the film was completed in March. Yami was a great co-star to work with,” he added.

Directed by E. Niwas, “Aman Ki Aasha” is being produced by Neeraj Pandey.

The movie collected 18 Cr in the first weekend collections. It had one of the highest opening weekend collections in this year. Though the occupancy rate in theaters was around 50% since it had a wide release, the numbers came in.     The actors performances, songs  and quirky dialogues are the highlights of this movie. Director David Dhawan is a happy man. Having faced ire of the public for his last two releases Do Knot Disturb and Rascals, made neccesary changes to the story of classic comedy film Chashme Buddoor.

Even though the critics response to this movie was bad, good word of mouth among the public ensured that this Ali Zafar,Divyendu Sharma,Sidharth and Taapsee Pannu starrer stay afloat. And also it had a single movie release.

Other small movie which was released last friday was Luke Kenny’s Rise of the Zombies. But due to a limited release and no word from the critics, this movie flopped badly.

On other news, Jolly LLB’s box office collections have surpassed 50Cr mark. Movie was made on a small budget of 14 Cr and it has collected 46 Cr from domestic market and 4 Cr from overseas. The movie make even more profits as the makers have been approached by several producers from south for a remake.

Story :

Chashme Baddoor is a remake of 1981 classic movie Chashme Buddoor. The basic story of the old film remains but David Dhawan has included a lot of extra scenes in this. The story of the film is about three friends Sid, Jai and Omi (Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma respectively).  While Omi and Jai are two womanizers, Sid is very shy and decent guy. Here enters Neha (Taapsee Pannu) and as usual Omi and Jai go behind her trying to woo her. She rejects both of them and coincidentally falls in love with Sid. Seeing this Omi and Jai vow to try to break them up. Rest of the story is how they break them up and what happens to the friendship of the trio.

Performances :

Performances wise the movie is good. The movie is highly eclipsed by Divyendhu Sharma and Sidharth. Divyendhu Sharma continues his powerful performance from “Pyaar ka Punchnama” , and is the backbone of the film and continues to crack up the audience with is sher-o-shayari. Sidharth introduces to a whole new part of him with hysterical antics. Ali Zafar is just okay. Taapsee makes a grand debut. She is very confident and plays the bubbly girl part very well. Veterans Rishi Kapooor, Lillete Dubey and Anupam Kher play their parts well . Anupam Kher does a double action in this movie. Rishi and Lillete play a romantic lovers who are in their 50′s.

Technical aspect : 

Story wise Chashme Baddoor is far cry from the original. Though the quirky dialogues and the shayari deserve special mention, but it doesn’t get the same support from the story of the movie. The movie is shot in a true David Dhawan fashion. The screenplay of the movie is also not that great. There are many loopholes in the script. Most of the times you are left wondering where the movie is going. The songs of the movie are good and enjoyable. They are shot really well too. First half is very enjoyable, Second half of the movie goes on very slow pace. In fact,  Rishi Kapoor and Lillete Dubey’s romantic track is the only thing that is good in second half. The ending of the movie seems like any other no brainer movie from David Dhawan’s film.

Analysis :

Chashme Baddoor starts off a breezy comedy but in the course of time. it goes off track and ruins the whole movie. The original was very simple and funny but David Dhawan manages to make it into a long, boring one with a bunch of silly gags thrown into it. The movie’s main highlight are Omi and Jai.  Divyendhu and Sidharth, pull off these roles effortlessly and to perfection. Rishi Kapoor and Lillete Dubey’s romantic track provides much needed relief to the boring second half. If we do not compare this movie to the original, then most of the movie is good but after some time in the movie, movie becomes too predictable and sadly thats the way it ends.

Bottomline : Watch the movie for Divyendhu’s Shayari and Sidharth’s hilarious antics.

Sajid and Wajid who have partnered with David Dhawan in their venture “Partner” gave some mind blowing music. Can they recreate it is the question. The answer is yes and they have shown with this album. The album has 5 songs.

Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai is the first song in the album. It is sung by veteran Sonu Nigam. Its a fresh song and its has got catchy lyrics so you are bound to be singing it. The lyrics of the song seemed to be inspired by a popular ad jingle.

DHICHKYAAON DOOM DOOM is next in the song. It is picturised on Ali zafar and Taapsee. It reminds you of one of the teasing songs of 80′s. Sung by Shreya Ghosal and Ali Zafar himself, will make you love this track. The lyrics are also very good.

EARLY MORNING is the next track that follows. It is a simple track that has smooth vocals of Sonu Nigam. There are many instruments used in this song. It reminds you of Kishore Da’s songs with enough yoddling. Worth a listen definitely.

ISHQ MOHALLAH is sung by Mika Singh and Wajid. The songs is an Laxmikant-Pyarelal inspired composition. The quirky lyrics seem perfect for the song and make the song more likable.

The last song in the album is ’Andha Ghoda Race Mein Dauda’. It is sung by Neuman Pinto. It is fun situational song. Lyrics of the song should get a special mention.

Bottom line : Listen the album for the fun lyrics and to revisit simple music era of 80s.

“This is utterly baseless. I will join my co-stars Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma. I wish I could be there for the whole period of the film’s promotion,” said Ali, who is likely to be here before the film hits screens Friday.

Directed by David Dhawan, the film is a remake of 1981 light-hearted drama “Chashme Buddoor”, also known as buddy film, and Ali plays one of the lead roles in it.

Talking about Niwas’ project, he said: “I had committed to shooting E. Niwas’ ‘Aman Ki Asha’ for the month of March during the time when ‘Chashme Baddoor’ was scheduled to release in February 2013. But then its date changed to April, so I had to fulfil my commitment and let go of a part the CB promotions. Sad, because the film and its promotions is real fun. It was more fun than I had expected it to be.”

Working on the remake was an awesome experience for the actor, who debuted in Bollywood with 2010 movie “Tere Bin Laden”.

“Bonding with the boys, the fun of working with David Dhawan, discussing Punjabi jokes with the sweet Taapsee Pannu and learning from veterans like Rishi Kapoor and Anupam Kher, not to mention the formula for masala-making from the writers Sajid-Farhad and music-directors Sajid-Wajid – all put together an awesome experience,” said the actor.

Ali says he experiences no problems at all in visiting India and being part of Bollywood. “I love the Mumbai entertainment industry. Everyone has been kind,  supportive and very friendly. I haven’t encountered any hostility anywhere in India,” said the actor who has so far worked in four Hindi films, including “Chasme Baddoor“.

Speaking up for Ali, a source from Viacom 18, the producers of “Chashme Buddoor”, said that they are “embarrassed” to read that he is not here to promote the film due to visa problems.

“Ali has never had any problems coming to India. He has been with us as much as he can. And he joins us again in a couple of days.”

On April 5th , the makers of the original movie “Chashme Budduur” are planning to re release the iconic classic movie. They are planning to release the original on the same day when its remake is releasing.

Confirming the news “Earlier we had decided to release it one week ahead and then decided to do it on the same day because the buzz will be maximum during that time,” said Shiladitya Bora, head of Director’s Rare, an alternative programming wing of the PVR multiplex chain.

When asked about the competition the remake will face, Bora said “It would be unfair to compare the two films because the original “Chashme Buddoor” opens in limited release for a niche audience unlike Dhawan’s remake. Last year we re-released Kundan Shah’s 1983 film “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro”  which got a good response, encouraging us to attempt more re-releases”.

In the 1977 film, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, Rishi  Kapoor had performed a tap dance for the song Mil Gaya Hum Ko Saathi Mil Gaya. The scene has been shot and he will groove to the tunes of the song Early Morning.

“Rishi Kapoor has done mind blowing steps in the song, which reminds you of his Mil gaya hum ko saathi mil gaya from Hum Kisise Kum Naheen days, where the young Rishi was seen in off white clothes and dancing his heart out,” says a source.

“In Chashme Baddoor too, he is dancing with full zest. We are sure the audiences are going to have a treat as he is set to do tap dancing after 36 years,” the source added.

The 60 year old actor will be seen playing a hopeless romantic bachelor in the film. He will portray a retired sailor sporting tattoos and riding a Harley-Davidson bike. His look is said to be inspired by adult film actress Sunny Leone`s husband Daniel Weber, who dons a stubble and has tattoos inked all over.

Chashme Baddoor is the remake of a 1981 fim of the same name. The movie also stars actors Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and southern actress Taapsee Pannu.

The film is set to hit the theatres on April 5^th. Directed by Dhawan, the movie is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
