Aditi Rao Hydari

    Aditi Rao was born in Hyderabad in 1979. She is from two royal lineages of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and Raja J Rameshwar Rao of erstwhile Wanaparthi princely state of Andhra Pradesh. Aditi made her acting debut with the 2006 Tamil film Sringaram, in which she enacted the lead character, a devadasi. The film itself was based on classical dance. The film received critical acclaim and fetched several accloades, including three National Film Awards. But her first film in reel life was the 2006 Malayalam film Prajapathi.

    She made her debut in Bollywood with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6, in which she essayed a small role. In 2011 she appeared in Yeh Saali Zindagi. The film was critically acclaimed and she also won the screen award. Later she played another cameo in Rockstar opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri. In 2012 she starred in London, Paris, New York as the female lead opposite Ali Zafar. She made her singing debut in the film. Aditi Rao Hydari and Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao are first (maternal) cousins. The sisters, though very fond of each other, hardly meet given their hectic schedules.
