Abhishek Bachchan was born on Febuary 5, 1976 to Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan began his career with J.P. Dutta’s Refugee which also marked the debut of another actress Kareena Kapoor. His performance was described as his acclaimed by critics and the film performed moderately well at the box office and was the fifth highest grossing film of that year. His next two films went without a trace at the B.O and gave a string of 17 flops. But in 2004 with Mani Ratnam’s Yuva he proved his mettle as an actor and went on to win his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2004, He starred in Dhoom his first commercial hit. Earning over Rs. 55 Crore, the film became one of the top-grossing Indian films of 2004. In 2005, Bachchan starred in Shaad Ali’s Bunty Aur Babli opposite Rani Mukerji. The film was a critical and commercial success becoming one of the biggest hits of 2005. He starred in three more films that year and all of them were declared hits.
In 2006, Bachchan’s first release Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, became one of the biggest box office hits in India, earning Rs 458 million, and grossed over Rs 480 million abroad, the biggest Bollywood success of all-time in the overseas market up until then. Since 2006 he has done a lot of films out of which Paa, Dhoom 2, Dostana and Guru have been the biggest hits. He tried his luck with a lot of films since 2010 but nothing worked for him until Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan in 2012 which became a super hit and became a part of the 100 crore club. Abhishek fell in love with actress Aishwarya Rai after they met in 1997. Bachchan and Rai announced their engagement on 14 January 2007 later confirmed by his father, Amitabh Bachchan. The couple was married on 20 April 2007. On Nov 16 2011, Aishwarya gave birth to a baby girl . The baby was named Araadhya in March 2012.
