When someone like Aishwarya Rai is making a comeback after so many years, the comeback has to be a really special one and not something that won’t be remembered. And that’s exactly what the Bachchan bahu seems to have had in mind when she was choosing her comeback film. And that’s the reason why she did not want to do it with Badlapur it turns out!
Badlapur has got an interesting script but has also got Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and Nawazuddin Siddique playing the leads along with her where as Jazbaa the film that Aishwarya Rai chose to comeback with, is something of a women centric film with her playing a major role (the Irrfan Khan’s police role will not be as important as hers, apparently). It really is not surprising that she chose Jazbaa over Badlapur.
This is what a source said talking about why she rejected Badlapur in the first place, “Even though she liked the subject, Ash wasn’t too thrilled at the prospect of being part of a large group of actors in her come back film. Also her character has shades of grey and she didn’t’ want to do a negative role either.”
