Raja Natwarlal weekend box office: The Emraan Hashmi starrer earns Rs 16 crores
Kunal Deshmukh’s revenge drama has fared below expectations and is a dull affair at the ticket counters.
Raja Natwarlal has generated a lot of curiosity among the masses, and so the team – Emraan Hashmi, producers and director Kunal Deshmukh – was expecting good news from the ticket counters. The film managed to earn just Rs 4.80 crores on the opening day, Rs 3.90 crores on Saturday and Rs 6.50 crores on Sunday. After receiving mixed reviews from critics and a lukewarm response from the audience, the Emraan Hashmi-Paresh Rawal starrer has garnered Rs 16 crores in the opening weekend.
Exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi feels, “The film has met with a lukewarm response at the box office due to various factors. The Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in Maharashtra particularly gave the film a serious jolt and kept the crowds from going to watch Emraan Hashmi’s new offering away. The audience of a ‘typical’ Emraan Hashmi film comes to single screen cinemas and that’s exactly the public you see participating in the festivities.”
It remains to be seen whether RN will bring in more footfalls in the coming days, which looks difficult right now. Watch this space for more!
