What’s up with our censor board? Can this get any more ridiculous? Like seriously, Deepika Padukone’s dialogue in Finding Fanny, where she tells Arjun Kapoor “I am a virgin”, is apparently considered ‘vulgar’ by The Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC).
Homi Adajania has been told by a senior board member that if he wants his latest film Finding Fanny to fall under UA category, he will have to delete the dialogue. On the other hand, Homi argues that there have been films in the past that have the word ‘virgin’ in it, for example, the 1998 hit film Dil Se and the latest 2014 film 2 States.
However, another report states that a Board member by the name Deepak, who watched the film’s screening is not the right person to make a decision. Though he claims to be the Personal Secretary to CEO (Rakesh Kumar), he is a PA to the Chairperson (Leela Samson). Deepak however says that he was not the only person present at the screening and that they as a committee took the decision.
Apparently, Pankaj Kapur’s staring at Dimple Kapadia’s prosthetic posterior too did not go down very well with the CBFC.
Stay tuned for further details. Meanwhile, watch the trailer of Finding Fanny and do let us know what your thoughts are.
