“We both work out in the middle of the night at home or with trainers.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Sonu Sonu will be seen together in Farah Khan’s forthcoming dance heist, Happy New Year. Both actors are known for their affinity towards building a good body and they have been exchanging notes and bonding over fitness. “We always talk about fitness. Yesterday morning, I was with him till 5 am and we were talking about fitness,” says Sood. “We bond over conversations about fitness and diet as this is what we have in common.”
Did they work out together? “During the Dubai schedule we worked out together. SRK is very fit.” While SRK worked towards a six pack in his previous outing with Farah’s Om Shanti Om, Sonu had displayed a well built body to match Salman Khan’s robustness in Dabbang. Sood reveals: “We both work out in the middle of the night at home or with trainers even when not on shoots. When you know what your goals are, the time doesn’t really matter.”
The two actors have one thing in common – both have survived injuries and come out stronger. Sonu was bedridden for three-four months after he sustained multiple fractures at a freak accident at a Celebrity Cricket League match in Dubai last year. “For my fast recovery, I give credit to my lifestyle (no smoking or drinking) along with physiotherapy.” Sonu’s doctor had told him that it would take 10-11 months to recovery but he bounced back faster.
Sonu recalls feeling determined to come back stronger after the injury and that determination seems to have paid off. Post Entertainment with Akshay Kumar, he will be seen with SRK in HNY. “For a while I was told to strictly avoid any stunts so we used a double in some scenes initially last year. At that time I couldn’t even walk also but by God’s grace I am much better now. For all you know you might even see me shake a leg with SRK in HNY.”
