Ranbir Kapoor has already turned producer with his forthcoming film Jagga Jassoos for which he is collaborating with director Anurag Basu. And the star has expressed a desire to direct in the future too. So it was not surprising when buzz surfaced that Ranbir was planning to make a short film on his grandfather, the late legend Raj Kapoor.
However Ranbir demurs saying, “It is not possible to make a short film on my grandfather as it will require a lot of research. His life was such that it would require 500 hours of film to do justice.” But the actor does have other short-film plans centring on his idols. He reveals: “I would like to bring Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir Khan on the same sofa and talk to them about their work and their success. I think that would be very interesting. It’s the kind of thing that generations will cherish. That would be my short film and it will be my dedication to all three of them.”
When asked how he would manage to bring sparring partners Shah Rukh and Salman together on the same couch, Ranbir joked, “I will shoot it separately and then put it together through CG (computer graphics).” On a more serious note, he added, “It my wish. Let’s see if I am able to realise my dream.”
