Shahrukh Khan’s biggest hit till date happens to be Chennai Express also starring Deepika Padukone and directed by Rohit Shetty. The film, released on August 9 last year went on to collect a whopping Rs 225 crores at the box office. It was made under the banners of UTV Motion Pictures and Red Chillies Entertainment, produced by Gauri Khan, Karim Morani, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Since then, both SRK and Rohit had been looking forward to work together again. Our khabroo informs, “Now that Rohit is free from Singham Returns, he’s been meeting SRK quite often to discuss several projects that the actor-director has been planning to do together. They had also dabbled on various subjects to find out what’s going to be their best bet.”
BC has learnt that King Khan and Shetty have not only locked a subject but they are going to begin work on the project from March 2015. SRK, on his part, has decided to give priority to this project instead of his other projects including Raees starring himself and Farhan Akhtar and directed by National award winning director Rahul Dholakia. Our khabroo informs that SRK is super excited with the subject that he and Rohit will start shooting beginning next year.
Last week, Rahul dismissed reports stating that the shooting of Raees was being postponed for multiple reasons. In fact, Rahul mentioned then that the movie will go on floors soon as the crew is busy finalizing shooting locations for the film. Based on the story of a bootlegger, Raees will release around the last quarter of 2015. Hmmm… but since SRK has already allotted his dates to Rohit for their next, one wonders when Raees will go on floors and whether it will be released in 2015.
Looks like SRK is in no mood to take any risk as far his future projects are concerned as all his rival costars are delivering 100 crores blockbusters. In all probabilities, Raees is postponed for now.
