Kareena Kapoor confirms, Saif Ali Khan’s Padma Shri won’t be taken away

Reports were abuzz that the Indian Government is all set to take away Saif Ali Khan’s Padma Shri award, as the actor has been slapped with charges by the Mumbai court for reportedly assaulting an NRI businessman at a hotel in Mumbai, a few years ago. However, wifey Kareena Kapoor, at a recent event, has rubbished all rumors saying that the award will stay safe with Saif.

Saif was awarded the fourth highest civilian honor in 2010 for his immense contribution in the field of art.

Kareena Kapoor said that Saif’s Padma Shri award will not be taken away, as the government has issued a letter stating the same. She further added that the media will soon be receiving the letter too.

Taking about charges put on Saif, Kareena says the verdict is yet to come out.

Meanwhile, home minister official was quoted saying that just because Saif is convicted in a case relating to a minor scuffle, it would not be fair to strip him off his honor.

WeThinks, the award should not have been given to the junior Pataudi in the first place, given that there were serious charges pending him. For those unaware, Saif has also been charged by a Jodhpur court in the 1998 blackbuck shooting case. And now that he has already been awarded, it would be ridiculous to take back the honor.

Stay tuned for more details on the same.
