IN PICTURES: Genelia D’Souza’s Major Transformation

Although Genelia D’Souza had made her debut in the Indian cinema with Bollywood, she never got the fame and recognition she needed. The actress then moved down South and there her life changed. She got all the popularity she needed and become one of South’s biggest stars.

Genelia moved back to Bollywood to make a great comeback. And she did succeed. It was the film Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na that opened ways for her to explore newer grounds. This time Genelia was here to stay.

In the 2004 film Masti, Genelia didn’t look a bit of a glam doll. She was a mediocre looking actress back then. Even when she moved to the South, she still had very simple Indian looks that suited well for the roles made for her in that film industry. Bollywood demanded something more of her. And she went on to get a major transformation over a period of time. In her comeback film she looked too cute to handle. And ever since, she has always been a fashionista in her own way.

Here are some pictures of Genelia D’Souza that will show how she had changed from her first Hindi film to her South queen days to her comeback in Bollywood.

Why are all your comments about women so misogynistic? Are ‘looks’ all that matter? Almost articles revolve around how pretty someone is and often include degrading statements about actresses. Why do you have to say ‘mediocre looking’? It is shameful that your writers propagate such superficial qualities in women. I realise its Bollywood but do you have to fall to such standards and reinforce non-attainable ideals of beauty? Please change your staff to include more tolerant and less prejudiced people.
