The famed NRI bhangra band, RDB created headlines when they decided to go separate ways and pursue their individual careers. However, currently the situation is under legal dispute with the brothers battling it out in the court in UK. Our sources inform us that Surjeet Singh has been aping his rather successful brother, Manjeet Ral to garner fans under the fake RDB banner.
Surjeet, who got recently married to Jes, a stylist based in Dubai has made an overnight decision to turn his wife into his singer, who infact has, no knowledge of music. This clearly shows some signs of lack of creativity as Surjeet is trying to copy tactics of younger brother Manjeet Ral who married his childhood sweetheart Nindy Kaur and became a powerhouse in the music scene worldwide as successful singers. What’s even more interesting is that apart from copying touring styles, Surjeet has zero new innings in Bollywood after the split and isn’t producing any new music apart from charting out stale RDB numbers at his public performances.
Ankit Khanna, former manager of RDB and now with Manj Musik states, “Surjeet has always been a DJ when RDB was formed and even after they split up. It is very unprofessional of him to use content that was originally created by Manjeet and late Kulypaji. Infact what is even more amusing is how artists today fool audiences at private events and shows by lip synching. Nevertheless, Manjeet has a lot of film projects in the pipeline and I believe he is truly taking the RDB sound ahead under the Manj Musik label. Technically, RDB as a brand is ineffective after the split and any kind of usage of RDB branding is illegal.”
RDB has hits like Heropanti and Salman Khan’s Kick to their credit. Also, they are doing an international movie Dr. Cabbie which is co-produced by Salman Khan.
