Salman Khan: There’s only one King in Bollywood and let him be

Salman hints at his arch-rival Shah Rukh Khan being the only King of Bollywood

Amitabh Bachchan is referred as the Shahenshah of Bollywood whereas Shah Rukh Khan has been conferred with the title of King Khan by their millions of admirers and well wishers. As far as the reigning superstar Salman Khan is concerned, he’s been fondly called ‘Bhai’ and ‘Sallu’.

While Salman’s latest Eid release, Kick which has been doing phenomenally well at the box office, he’s indeed considered as the most successful star of Bollywood. Also considering the fact that Sallu is the only Khan to have seven 100 crore grossers to his credit – Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, Jai Ho including Kick.

Salman unveiled the trailer of Roar – Tigers Of The Sundarbans directed by debutant director and his actor friend Kamal Sadanah. Sallu was in a jovial mood (is it the Kick box office effect?) and had the press in splits with his hilarious repartees. When Sallu was asked whether he’s the new King of Bollywood, he said it in his inimitable style. “There’s only King in Bollywood and let him be. It’s better that way.” On being probed further as to where do he find himself placed among the Kings and Shahenshahs of Bollywood, Sallu smilingly replied, “I think I’m misplaced.”
