Abhishek Bachchan wants to do a biopic on Yuvraj Singh’s life

Biopics on sports personalities are a contemporary Bollywood trend – Farhan Akhtar won rave reviews for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and now Priyanka Chopra has generated great interest in the ready-for-release Mary Kom. Now that Abhishek is promoting kabaddi as a sport and has bought the Jaipur Pink Panthers for the Pro Kabaddi League, one wonders if he would like to play the role of a sportsperson on screen.

Abhishek picks Yuvraj Singh as the sportsman whose life he would like to depict onscreen. “Yuvraj Singh has had a great career. His success, his struggle to be selected for the team, his battle with cancer, his role in the World cup final…his story is very inspiring. I have learnt a lot from him … also we have a similar nose.”

The other sports personalities Abhishek thinks highly of include “Kapil (Dev) paaji, Sunil (Gavaskar) uncle, Mahi (Dhoni) and the great Tendulkar, but I am too small to even take my name in the same breath as them. I would love to see a Dhyanchand biopic as well. In fact, I keep telling Shah Rukh that he must consider it.”
