Kareena Kapoor has rejected some superhit films. Take a look

They say, opportunity knocks but once, grab it. Well, this is so true at least in Bollywood. Every second day we get to hear some actor or the other replacing another, and BAM, that film’s a HIT. Well, our reigning Bollywood queen Kareena Kapoor Khan is no different.

The actress had once blamed her mood swings for having lost on so many meaty projects. However, she also added quickly that she had no regrets.

Well, Kangana Ranaut’s role in Queen has won her accolades from almost all the bigwigs in Bollywood. Her role is sure to win her a couple of awards too, but did you know, Vikas Bahl had first approached Kareena for Queen’s role?

In an interview, when the actress was asked about her refusal to ‘Queen’, Kareena said, she feels honoured and glad to give work to other people. Knowing that the film is a superhit, yet she didn’t seem to have regretted her decision. In fact, she hopes that the actresses who replaced her, become big stars.

This is not the first time Bebo has refused films which have gone on to become superhit. In the past too, she has rejected Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela, Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express and also films like Black and Kal Ho Na Ho.

So basically, Kareena is in a phase of life, where career has become an option now. She is keen on acting in films that excite her. For her the script should be nice and crisp.

Meanwhile, take a look at dome of the mistakes Kareena Kapoor has made in her career, so far.

Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (Amisha Patel’s role)

Yes peep! Kareena Kapoor was the chosen one opposite Hrithik Roshan. She apparently walked out of the film a few days after shooting had started, as she realized that the film was more of Hrithik’s launch pad and she would get sidelined. The role then landed in Ameesha Patel’s kitty, making her a star overnight.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (Aishwarya Rai’s role)

The 1999 film went on to become one of Ash’s biggest hits of all time, but not many know that Kareena Kapoor was the original choice for the film. However, the latter refused the offer because of the following reasons: “Bhansali had offered me Hum Dil De… but at that time I was too young. Plus, I was also going abroad for higher studies. So I couldn’t take up that offer,” Kareena said.

Kal Ho Naa Ho (Preity Zinta’s role)

Yes, Kareena was KJO’s first choice for Naina’s role. Apparently, Bebo had demanded a whopping sum which could not be fulfilled and so, Karan had to offer the role to Preity. In fact, relation between the actress and KJo soured after this incident. But the duo patched up later and have worked together as well.

Fashion (Priyanka Chopra’s role)

Can you imagine Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie, Fashion without Priyanka Chopra? Well, the filmmaker actually did. He revealed that Kareena Kapoor was his original heroine for the film. However, the actress refused it because of prior commitments.

Ram-Leela (Deepika Padukone’s role)

Another mistake to have been made by Bebo is walking out of Bhansali’s Ram Leela, which was a blockbuster. Apparently, the shooting of the film went on floors in October 2012, around the same time when Kareena tied the knot to her long time boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, hence unable to dedicate her dates to the film.

The latest film that Kareena rejected is Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do. She has been replaced by Anushka Sharma now.
