“I get easily get scared.”
After the success of the supernatural thriller Raaz 3 (2012), Bipasha Basu is B-town’s scream queen. With two major films – the Vikram Bhatt-directed Creature 3D and Bhushan Patel’s (of Ragini MMS2) next film, Alone, Bipasha Basu has become B-town’s first choice for the horror genre.
At the event to launch Creature 3D’s trailer, Bipasha clarified, “People ask me why I want to do horror films but for me the genre is not important. I want to do a film that entertains.”
Bipasha made much of her non-human co-star, who is a special FX creation. She said, “This is a rare film where I didn’t work for even one day with my co-star … I had to imagine him every day. This film was unusual for me because mere alawa aur koi tha hi nahin … imagination was a big tool in the film.”
Creature sees Bipasha reteaming with her Raaz 2 director Vikram Bhatt, and she says, “The first time I was given a rough idea about the film, I told Vikram ‘Wow our creature is very athletic. I like the fact that he is very fit.’ I did this film because of my trust in Vikram and it paid off. Vikram is forward-thinking. He is a dear friend, ever since I began the journey with Raaz (2002).”
Yet the friendly unit was not above making fun of Bipasha’s fear of the supernatural. Bipasha revealed, “While shooting, they played many pranks on me because I get easily get scared.” The mere mention of her beau Harman Baweja, also spooked Bipasha. All she was willing to divulge was that Harman was not a part of Creature 3D.
She was more comfortable talking about her next horror film, Alone and brushed aside talk of tension with her co-star newcomer Karan Singh Grover. She insisted, “I am right now shooting for Alone and Karan and my bonding is very good.”
